I know it was known well in advance but who at the SPFL thought it would a great idea to play the first major cup final on the weekend following the last round of European competition? Absolutely Bonkers!!!

Aberdeen are set to play an inform Eintracht Frankfurt who’ve only just pumped 5 past Bayern Munich! Aberdeen manager , Barry Robson, is fighting for his job and now has to decide whether to play a full strength team in a dead rubber in Europe and risk player injury / fatigue or risk getting an absolute drubbing and put himself under even more pressure! Ridiculous position to be in.

Anyway I’ve taken Frankfurt -3 @ 10/1. I believe he will rest players for the final on Sunday.

Rangers are very much still in Europe and their manager admitted in press conference that he would have liked to leave players out of this game but injuries, suspensions and players left out of Euro squad by Beale make that more or less impossible. Real Betis are undefeated at home in all competitions and drew 1-1 with Real Madrid at the weekend so even at full strength it would be a tall order. I’m expecting a relatively easy home win!

This has to be looked at for next season as it’s very unfair on the clubs involved. Hopefully common sense prevails and we ll see Final date moved
 
I was laughing at Aberdeens open top bus all decked out for winning the League Cup parade then my mate sent me this….

I was just making the suggestion of the two clubs' threads being merged so that obsessive tit for tat moaning that one team are so hard done by and the referees all favour the other can be avoided easier, it's tedious. Although understand Jimharri's reasons for not going down that road too.

For someone who never goes into the threads, you have captured most, but not all, of it. Although to be fair, we do have history and sometimes No8 seems to exist in a parallel universe where Rangers are a force. Not that Force, and I try and bring reason to his turmoiled mind. Not having much success. I won’t give in though. I’m like that.
