Which I pretty much agree with. Whatever about better, it was certainly more competitive. But the conversation was triggered by my comment about it being as well to give the trophy to Celtic now. You're unlikely to reel them back in (too inconsistent). I'd love to see Aberdeen pull it off; it's tedious watching one of the old firm winning it for decades now. I just don't think they'll last the pace. And say they happen to be top in March; will they be mentally able to handle that? I'm not sure they could, not having been in such a position since I had teeth and hair.

Aberdeen fans will be loving life right now but I’m afraid we’ve seen this before. Hearts , under George Burley I think, were flying a few years back but once the injuries / suspensions kick in their lack of strength in depth is exposed.

We need more money into our game and at the moment the best bet is through European success. Hopefully Hearts will benefit through this seasons run.

Aberdeens run comes to an abrupt halt tomorrow!! : )))))))))
 
Hearts had 3 managers that season with Burley.
Finished second in the league and won the Scottish Cup beating zGretna on pens.

I’d say the league has been ruined as a spectacle by the domestic success of two teams personally, that’s been over 30 years

There is zero (ZERO) chance Aberdeen win the league, suspect we’ll get beat tomorrow night as you say. I’ll be going tomorrow and i’m sure the players will give their all, as will our fans, but I’ll repeat again Zero chance Aberdeen win the league.

Would an Aberdeen league win make the league better, I’d say definitely yes but the truth is it’d be a freak one off as the ugly sisters are financially much more superior and will go on to win the next 30 leagues between them. Scottish football is broken, personally I’d introduce a wage cap, squad cost cap and increase the league to 20 teams.
To make Scottish football a better spectacle and competitive again, it would mean having a more similar playing field, if that means short term pain for Celtic and Rangers for the benefit of the rest of the teams, so be it.

Two teams haven’t held the Spanish clubs

One team hasn’t held back the French clubs

One team hasn’t held back the German clubs

And so on and so on

Nearly all the top leagues in Europe are dominated by the same clubs year after year. It’s just lazy blaming Rangers and Celtic for other clubs woes. Ffs we had an ICT fan blaming Rangers for their troubles!! The vast majority of their support are Rangers fans without the bus fare!

Anyway there are small signs that the gap maybe closing and that can only be good for the game in Scotland as a whole.

It also has to be remembered that it was Stewart Milne that voted with Celtic in 2012 to keep the 10/2 voting system. A short sighted vote that has stopped the prize money being dished out in a more equitable manner.

Old firm managers , players , supporters have a cheek bemoaning the lack of competition while they take so much money out the game in Scotland. You want competition then look to change the way TV / Prize money is shared
