Scotland yesterday displayed the best form of democracy perhaps the world has to offer. For an issue so enormous and significant, the manner in which the people, although vehement and strong in conviction in their views, walked side by side to cast their votes without any violence, riots, complications and perceivable corruption shows that democracy still works in certain parts of the world.
The country is irrevocable changed even though the result was no as this whole issue has opened up avenues for more actions and reform. And even though united in name, there will be some divisions and conflict especially in Scotland where those that voted yes would need some time to shed off those sentiments they have allowed the world to see.
I always said this was never going to happen as I knew that those with common sense and those that did not allow themselves to be swept away by the Salmond Vanity Bandwagon of some pointless, misguided idea of independence will opt to vote no.
Regardless of the result, Scotland from how things transpired yesterday has a lot to be proud of.
