Sean Dyche - vaccine for footballers?

Of course they have a choice, the same way you would if your works told you to come in and put yourself at risk.

What an idiotic question.

Are you being serious? Not sure if you're a bit dimwitted or on the wum.

If by choice you mean making yourself jobless then yes technically its a choice. Not one anyone with bills or kids or a mortgage could afford to make though.

Some elite level footballers are teachers and work for the NHS too.
Then they should be prioritising their contact and health by putting one before the other. I also wouldn’t be against them being in line for the vaccine, but not based on their footballing needs.

Are you saying footballers have a choice if they want to play/train?

IMHO regardless of how rich you are, if you are expected to work during covid you should be amongst the first to get the vaccine, after the at risk people and if you want it.

I think the real question is should football be played at all?
Absolutely correct, ignore the reply he gave. He'll be gladly enjoying the football while still acting the victim... you can't have your cake and eat it.
"Footballers bring it on themselves, give me my vaccine first".

"In September, 2020, this variant represented just one in four new diagnoses of COVID-19, whereas by mid-December, this had increased to almost two thirds of new cases in London."

It started on the south east and by now has effectively killed off the original version by dint of being more transmittable.

You say that people are acting as if footballers aren't equal but the only person I've seen say anything like that is yourself. You seem to think that if they can pay they can get the vaccine before me, little old Joe Bloggs. I'm coming up to 60 years old shortly but am otherwise fit and healthy, my wife not so much. If it was available for purchase we could easily afford to jump the queue, would we? Not a bloody chance.

Footballers and football in general have decided to put themselves at risk for money reasons. And yet you think we should reward them further? Just because you enjoyed us beating the rags? If we lost would you be calling for this stupid idea to be scrapped?

Out of interest just where would you like them to be placed on the tier system?I'm in tier 8 or 9 from memory, the wife on a tier or two higher. Would you put them as more important than just me or above my wife as well? What about frontline staff, teachers, carers, emergency workers such as fire and police? Just how important do you think football is?
Everyone who's been triggered by it, including yourself, is pissed about the idea that people with money could get it first... You're just not honest enough with yourself to admit it and I do understand it but you're not looking at it objectively.

I already addressed frontline staff(definitely them first) and it sounds like your wife should be before them too but I think IF the PL do fund the NHS significantly then yes every PL player should be ahead of you and myself(sorry if this upsets you). That's if football is to continue because they are at higher risk.

Also, this idea that footballers should just not show up to training and if they do they bring it on themselves is moronic reasoning. If your argument was that football should not continue then I can't really argue with that. This
whole thing is theoretical for now, Sean Dyche gave an opinion and we're discussing whether it could be workable or not.

Since it's theoretical, are you really saying that you'd spit your dummy out if the PL paid £100m or more into the NHS and that's why they got their jabs before you? Seems to be what your saying with this "They shouldn't beable to pay for it" line of reasoning. I cannot understand that sorry(this is not like you slipping them fiver by any means), I imagine that would be a massive help to the NHS. Again, I've said high risk, frontline staff etc should come first regardless but I'd be ok with them being before the low risk general public.

Can I ask, have you been boycotting the City games or have you been sat enjoying the games, then coming out with what you have, without a thought to your own hypocrisy? Maybe we don't deserve to have football to watch if that's how we all feel on the whole, we probably should petition to stop football if that's the case.

That was 'elite' Slough Town's argument for stopping National League South.

I cant stand Dyche but I agree that footballers should be vaccinated. I don't think it is fair on them that if something non-essential is effectively forced to continue, they put their lives and family at risk. Additionally, the only way to ensure some level of integrity in the sport, is to vaccinate players so that clubs are not forced to play games with significantly weaker sides.
You can still get the virus after having the vaccine, just not as severe, so their families would still be at risk, the current rise in positive tests imo is a consequence of this latest strain, so it’s probably only going to get worse in football as it is in the general population, the fa should sack it of for the foreseeable but their greed won’t allow them too.

Spot on.

Fuck me do you need simple pictures to understand how things works? Don't answer that as it sounds like you'd need toilet paper with instructions on it.

They're multi million pound assets, if they tell the club they're not willing to risk themselves or their immediate families then what do you think the clubs will do in the present climate? Tell them they're sacked and they'll never work again in this industry?

Get your arse out of your own backside and try using what little brains you've got to think it through.

Do you both not think it's poor that it should come down to the individual player to make such a decision? The fa,pfa, or govt should be pulling the plug before it gets to players having to.

So my wife can get the jab but a 20 year old can get it before myself (me being more at risk), as long as they bribe the NHS. And yes that is a bribe.

"we probably should petition to stop football if that's the case", the only sensible thing you've said there.
