It'll just piss people off even more. There's already an 'us and them' mentality with footballers as is and when you've got idiots like Walker or Kean breaking rules, it makes it even worse.

It's got nothing to do with wages. I just don't think it's fair that footballers get the vaccine before people in public facing jobs, delivery workers, binmen, shop assistants etc. Especially as footballers are young and fit on the whole. Some of the managers are at risk, but that's it.

Exactly, why should they jump the queue before everyone else when there is people going to work every day who are not classed as frontline so won’t be getting the vaccine anytime soon, I could be wrong but we or certainly I have yet to hear of a young fit footballer having to be hospitalised due to the virus ( long may that continue ) I am 63 in a couple of weeks, no underlying health conditions but my age may determine whether I have to be hospitalised if I catch the thing, according to the government schedule I’m not due until mid May at the earliest for a vaccine so why should I or anyone else be pushed down the queue so as people younger and fitter can have it, and I go to the gym 5 days a week when they’re open.

I dont think his suggestion was to protect them as such. More to stop the testing/cost involved 3/4 times a week and pushing that money on to the NHS

Maybe they should just pull the plug on non essential activity (competitive sport) until the pandemic is under control? Once again it seems we are asked to believe that for some reason football is special.
