Well said. The FFP excuse is spouted by apologists who will still be defending the club when normal season ticket prices hit £1,000. One look at the numbers and upcoming revenues from TV, Champions League and commercial show that these price hikes are completely needless - and the same goes for any well off club in this country. Tens upon tens of millions in new revenues are set to fill the club coffers, but they still want to squeeze a few million more out of the fans. It's true our match day revenue is behind several clubs, but we offset that with good commercial revenues and of course our near permanent place in the Champions League elite, which always means cashing in despite our persistent failure there.

Our fan base lacks the hub other clubs like United (MUST) and Liverpool (SoS) have to challenge or question decisions. We get hit by price hikes, we moan online, but we don't really question them on a stage where it matters. City, a club conscious of its public image (see: the 180 on Viagogo), but not having said image put under any real stress by the fan base. They must be laughing at how passive the fan base is, like dogs who they can hit as many times as they please, only for it to crawl back obediently.

The truth is, and this is one of the most unpopular things that could be said on BM, we're greedier than United. Yes, greedier than United! Words you'd never have expected to hear 8 years ago. United are a club with a bigger fanbase yet announced price freezes for the 5th time in 6 years in January, despite missing the Champions League revenue. People will use the "BUT £299 SEASON TICKETS!!!!!" rebuttal, but how many really have a chance of getting one? And United's most expensive season ticket is £950. Ours is now £1,750. Our soulless execs upstairs have turned us into a greedy corporate whore of a club, betraying the huge working class fan base that follows it.

Exactly the sort of response I'd expect on Bluemoon. See the last sentence of the second paragraph. Heavy criticism of the club on here leads to a North Korean type attitude from the masses or of course... "rag".

i think we should clear a few things up.

1, we are no longer watching gerry creaney and co. these players cost millions and millions.
2, which when you think of it our season ticket prices are cheap/ comparable to teams with lesser squads.
3, boo hoo it all you like but FFP is to blame for this, not entirely of course as our owner wants a return on his money.
4, some people WANT padded seats and a posh bar.

last but not least the club genuinely care about the fans, as good if not better than any other club on this issue.

we are going to dominate world football. it wont come cheap.

Of course these players costs tens of millions, that's why these increases mean so little to the club in the grand scheme of things.

Not sure our tickets (bar the few 299 ones in the new stand) are much cheaper, if at all, than similar clubs.

The amount they'll make from these increases (corporate excepted) will have very little impact on FFP.

Not sure as many people want these premium as they think. Time will tell.

I'm fortunate that it doesn't have a great financial impact on my life but I have every sympathy for those that it does affect.

Are there any redeeming features of Manchester City Football Club, apart from the ones you've listed below

The club has shown its greed

Sagna who I doubt gives a jot

waste and disastrous transfer policy of the past couple of year

Empty seats

Manchester Citys 'corporate image' which is the most important thing

Do not expect the club to take any moral decision or consider the interests of fans

ps you missed out massive somewhere, perhaps you've already mentioned the massive increases or the massive liberty they're taking

Anyone who uses the analogy of these words has to be raggified.

not quite that bad but yes a bit of a blow to those who are forced to move due to cost. we are lucky, i think ours have gone up about 30 quid.

not quite that bad but yes a bit of a blow to those who are forced to move due to cost. we are lucky, i think ours have gone up about 30 quid.

E3 has gone up £50 where I sit, but it's still better than getting dragged around shops with the wife!

If ticket prices are so irrelevant why don't all clubs charge less? Our club offers the biggest range of prices and we have to move with the times

Mine has gone up £110 in the East Stand..

Whoever has calculated the pricing has a lot to answer for..

I currently sit to the left of the half way line, if i sit on the right of the halfway line higher up, i save £150..

How do they work that out ?
