Season Card Reservations/Relocations Direct Debit update 11/6

Re: Season Card Reservation,New ST etc 2015/16 Season.

I'm constantly amazed at the moaning on here, about everything City, but this thread beats most.

If you don't like the change that City told you was coming 4 years ago, then can I suggest you move seats, there are thousands and thousands of cheaper seats to be had, just get one.

We are light years behind other clubs of a similar nature regards corporate facilities, and as a result we make a lot less per game than they do.

Our owner has put his money in to make the stadium bigger to accommodate everyone, they've made tickets cheaper for all those that are willing to move.

Reading this thread its like some people only support City because of the seat they sit in, its pretty ridiculous, it really is. I couldn't care less where I sit to watch City, and with these new cheaper tickets, I fully intend to move to a cheaper seat, even though mine has only gone up about £20, and could be less if I drop platinum.

At the same time, I'm also going to take advantage to move to sit with a mate who currently sits a couple of rows away.

In a couple of years there will be even more of these cheaper seats, so even if you can't get the cheapest now, you'll be able to move again then.

Its only a seat !

As for those who don't have a season ticket currently, moaning because they only wanted a £299 ticket, well I'm afraid it was never sold like that, the 'list' was for people who wanted a ticket, any ticket, and those of us who have stayed with the club through thin and thinner, have more right to a cheaper ticket imho, than those who now want to watch the new City, but didn't in 2006, and in any case, I still think you'll get e season ticket relatively cheap if you still want one.

Tin hat on.

It's not just a seat. Couldnt be more wrong on that.

It is to me, and cheaper alternatives are available, without all the moaning. If the cost of the seat, and its position, means more to anyone than following the club, then I'm afraid they have the wrong pass time, in my opinion.

Most of them only use it for about 75/90 minutes anyway.

Re: Season Card Reservation,New ST etc 2015/16 Season.

Cleavers, you're right that for some fans the seat is more important than actually watching the football...I regularly see supporters spending more time acquainting with each other than actually watching the game... For them it's more of a social gathering, so I can see some people feeling upset if they have to relocate as they won't possibly be around Family & Friends whilst inside the ground..... Which is why we need a much more better drinking area than just Mary D's and The Vic... a City Square which is indoors/warm and for City fans, also with an area for Away fans when visiting to have somewhere to drink/socialise in a safe environment.

City Square on a snowy/rainy November night isn't ideal drinking weather when your hands are sticking to the pint due to frost haha.

People are happier when amongst Family/Friends... Scattered all over the fucking stadium amongst strangers results in a shit atmosphere and a disappointed customer/fan.

So if the ability to congregate with friends was much easier we'd be happier inside the stadium... More drinking = more singing.

The old Gas canister thing would make a great big PissPot for fans to congregate and drink.

I think - perhaps deliberately - you"re failing to grasp the strong sense of social interaction and community that is a fundamental part of going to watch City for many, many people. Your location, including your physical seat, therefore has quite a strong emotional significance.

I'm surprised you don't see that.

It's a bit like the phrase "it's only a game". Whilst true for some, for most they would probably be more aligned with Bill Shankly's often quoted view about life, death, and football.

Re: Season Card Reservation,New ST etc 2015/16 Season.

Ok - how about my moan...

I'm in the 3rd tier of the Colin Bell (block 328). Last year I paid £580. This year they want £700. By my maths that's an increase of over 20%. For what - the same seat, no extras and no early warning.

Ok - it's "only" £12 extra a month on the DD scheme but that's not the point.

Well done city. Let's move the club forward. This thread sounds like an old school golf club with people saying "I've drunkin that seat with Seth for 40 years"
Tough. We need to move with the times or get left behind.

Those in L2 moaning knew about this yonks ago. We've even got Ric (of all people) slagging the club off on Twitter with twisted stories of the truth - is he part of the Agenda??

Embrace the change as for one I'm enjoying it more than paying a few quid less to watch Pollock, Whitley and Bradbury

We've got the best stand in the country and I reckon the prices in that stand are amongst the cheapest in the Premiership.

Some seats have gone up massively - if you don't want to pay move.

The one problem could be that we'll have a waiting list of thousands and unsold season tickets in Level 2 because of the prices

My brother let his seasoncard lapse for a year. We sat together for the last 15 years, how's he going to get back with a waiting list of close to 10,000?

The point is, the club doesn't HAVE to put prices up. Neither does it have to offer 'value' season tickets. We will be comfortably within FFP perameters without the need to optimise matchday income. Just because other clubs' stadiums are bursting at the seams with corporate seating and 'premium' seating then it doesn't mean we have to follow suit. I repeat that City would easily comply with FFP without going down this new route. Most working class fans will agree that the club are beginning to alienate huge swathes of its core support.
