Ticket criteria for United away:

PMSL !!!!

I think I'm going to cry.

Birmingham do this as well.

On sale to:

Gold members 17th April
Silver members 20th April
Bronze members 21st April
General sale 23rd April

Not sure that's the exact colours of the memberships but it's something along those lines.

What happens to the 7,000+ loyalty pointers who can't afford a 'gold' membership?

The whole scheme is going live tomorrow and there is going to be a lot of unhappy people.

You're right, I've loads of questions. The missus sits next to me and she's had nothing yet as she only has 4700 points. How do we sit together at aways etc if I went for the guaranteed tickets and she isn't in the same scheme....

sounds similar to how Arsenal do it.

yes it sucks but this is the only way success is sustainable, with FFFP coming into force. there will always be a large section of the stadium available at decent prices, as well as your standard membership, but it's becoming the norm to gouge the priciest sections. Plenty of our more affluent supporters will bite at 2.5k. I certainly would if I earned a bit more.

lets say they get 1,000 in, that's 2.5m quid. equivalent to 5,000 extra seats in the ground.

Maybe, but most of our most affluent supporters aren't the ones with the most points I'd guess.
Also, you're paying £1900 for 1 seasons away tickets and an undetermined number of cup games in fa, carling and either champs league or europa (if we finish 4th and lose in the qualifier)

Without knowing the income of all of our supporters they will have had to make some kind of call. And you could argue that to have over 8,000 points you have a few quid to spend on City. Maybe not the most affluent but the disposable income with which to be attracted by such a membership.

And i'd also have thought that a similar scheme will be available to any supporter who can afford it, regardless of points. Otherwise the club is just leaving money on the table.

When the site launches tomorrow it wouldn't surprise me to see a good/better/best range of options, with the seasoncard merged in with it under the common brand of "Membership". Plus perhaps an international membership, which essentially is free money for the club.

I can't see it being worth it.
season ticket 600
all away games 19*38 average = 772
=1372.
I don't spend 1200 on cup games. you wouldn't even if we got to every final would you?

He mentions European games too. Though I am not sure if that is just guaranteed access to tickets or tickets themselves.

It says 'Superbia cements your place at the heart of the club. It will guarantee you a ticket for every single City game, home and away, in every competition. The biggest away games, cup semi-finals and finals, European trips - you'll be there, every time.'
well with 8000 points im sure you would be able to get a ticket anyway. if they move to membership levels what happens to someone with lets says 4000 points but cant spend top dollar on gold membership?!

Exactly, I've never had to worry over the last 10 years whether i would get a ticket and I could probably scrape together the £2.5K but I'm not sure it's value anyhow depending how far we get in the various comps and I go to games with my missus and a couple of mates and need to find out how this will work etc..

Re: Superbia - Membership 2011/12

I'm not clear what this £2,500 incluides, is it including the actual cost of tickets for away games and finals? If so, it's a reasonable deal for people who can afford to lay out the money in one go, which won't include me at this point in time, though with 7,800 pts I may not get the invite anyhow as I suspect they have to restrict numbers to maybe 1,000 or so as the supply of away tickets will be very limited for some aways.

Re: Superbia - Membership 2011/12

Good point - it could have huge repercussions for away games depending on on how many of these memberships they make available.

Correct, but not normally spending it all at once, can manage it over the course of a season
I agree though, loads of clubs do something similar, Arsenal, Spurs etc.....

Re: Superbia - Membership 2011/12

LOL this will dampen away support atmosphere bigtime....

Re: Superbia - Membership 2011/12

To sum it up...

What they've done is offer the top 300 (maybe) loyalty point'ers a package worth £2,500 which renews your season ticket and gaurentees you a ticket to every away game including european aways, cup finals etc

So it's your whole season paid for in one big bulk...like an away season ticket along with your home season ticket...Chelsea do this, they send the away tickets in the post without you having to fuck about.

Shady mentioned about Gold/Silver/Bronze...will people who aren't on Gold/Superbia have to pay extra to get on Silver and Bronze or whatever the club will name them?

I don't want to pay more I'm going to pay for my season ticket, which will be about £350 now I'm 18-21 category just to be on some poxy membership.

All will be revealed tomorrow along with a lot of unhappy Blues.

It does seem like it's quite limited from the literature they've sent through (for now anyway) and don't forget all these people would have been getting the away tickets first anyhow.

-- Sun May 15, 2011 12:52 pm --

Re: Superbia - Membership 2011/12

To be fair they already do something similar to this anyway.

If you buy a season ticket in one of the corporate suites you get first dibs on all away tickets anyway.

I looked at getting a ST in the 1894 suite but at £1,500 I thought it a bit out of my price range.
