Season Ticket Pricing as a result of Stadium Expansion

Evening mate...I was just trying to make a point regarding cost...city is cheap compared to smoking...
I'd love to know how many moaners are smokers....
It's easy isnt it to blame the club..glick..khaldoon..mansour but in reality its about lifestyle..
For the non smokers..i sympathise.
Its also very easy to make assumptions about folk you don't know.

Its not just about the ticket price anyway, as an example, I spend at least £700 a season before I even go through a turnstile (buy a ticket).

Assumption is the mother of all f**k ups ;o)

The old adage about the word assume is spot on :

It makes an ASS out of U and ME.

Padded seats in CB and ES.

You should be ok. I sit 6 seats away from non padded seats in the corner but looks like I'm going to have to move
OK thanks, so its only the ones that were advised a couple of season back.
Friends of mine relocated to CB3 two years ago because of this; there was some warning. Difficult though if there's a few of you.
They don't have a bad couple of seats in 326 ; more or less level with myself on row S. I was originally one row down from the top of the Maine Stand.

OK, can someone explain something to me. If you want to go on the waiting list, there's a handy diagram with all of the price points that you can select to choose which price of season ticket you wish to apply for. One of those price points is £750-799 only for blocks 223 and 228 (which is where I am). They tell us this is based on current prices....fair enough. However, if all of level 2 CB and ES is to become £1150+ then there won't be ANY seats at that price or even close, so this seems a bit odd.

Also, the sports bars are behind the north and south ends - so does this mean that if you buy in blocks 215-218, you won't have any concourse bar area at all and have to walk round to the side , and everyone else with £1150 padded seats will have to walk round to the end to get a sports bar experience drink?
Seems a bit odd?

1000 + for a season ticket, that is terrible, we are no better than arsenal. We are gonna end up with loads of empty seats especially in level 2. ( wembley). A great eaxmple would be the madrid game last season, years ago that would be a dream tie, but most of the people I was sat around were tourists, the regular fans couldnt afford it

Our fanbase in the main is a working class one, I seriously doubt many people can afford these ticket prices. I know loads of city fans that went for years, but now dont go and can't afford it, myself included.

how can anyone justify these prices.

1150 quid for an S/T is an absolute disgrace. But it's not just an S/T is it? It's a private concourse, bar, and possibly pre and post match food. No use to me as the other two I go to the games with sit in other areas of the ground.
It's still a fucking rip off though (for that money I'd expect sexual favours from Vorderman and Susanna Reid), and I envisage many hundreds of empty seats for all but the biggest games; we already see that in the premium seats in CB2. Those running the club have to be aware of the backlash that will hit them when this happens. There could be an even bigger backlash if the seats are unsold rather than just unused.
But if the club wants to gain from the high-end football tourist industry then it has to provide good seats in a sterile area away from the real fans and those of us that have sat there through thick, thin and shite have to cough up or move.

This is probably a ridiculous question, but im going to go for it anyway, is the food and drink in these 'new' bars complimentary? If not then I don't really see how it justifies £1000+.

Chris, if that was the case then maybe it would be more palatable, however all you get for the increase in cost is carpets, plaster painted walls, comfortable seating and bar area on the concourse.

will result in 100's of empty seat every game just like what happened when they forced 1000's of fans out of the North Stand a few years ago to make the whole of that end a Family Stand (one of the worst ideas the club have come up with to date)
