Season Tickets 2018-19 - 3% average increase reported

My boy has moved to the 18-21 age bracket and the ticket site states the following.....

To be eligible for a Seasoncard in the Family Stand, adult supporters must be accompanied by a Seasoncard holder under 16. Maximum of three adults per Under 16 Seasoncard holder.

How come I haven't been moved?
My brother's in the same situation and hasn't been moved. I suspect they haven't got anyone to fill the seats if they kick you out.

I know what we think of their fans but the club might be on to something, to be fair.

UNITED CONFIRM 2018/19 TICKET PRICES
Season and match ticket prices frozen for seventh consecutive season
Introduction of new £15 tickets for 18 to 25-year-olds in the Stretford End

Manchester United has confirmed that season and match ticket prices will be frozen for a seventh consecutive season, ahead of the 2018/19 campaign, making an eighth price freeze in nine years.

In that time, fans have enjoyed a price reduction of nearly 17 per cent in real terms.

In addition, the club has announced a new £15 ticket for fans aged 18-25, with pitch-side seats in the lower Stretford End, reinforcing the club’s commitment to a vibrant atmosphere, while also helping younger fans to watch live, affordable football.

Other concessions include:

• £10 per game Season Ticket price for Under 16s (Family areas)

• Half-price tickets for Under 18s & 65+ (prices from £14 per game)

• 25 per cent discount for 18 to 20-year-olds

Also, supporters will receive a 25 per cent reduction for Carabao Cup home games.

Manchester United’s Group Managing Director Richard Arnold commented: “The club enjoys unparalleled support and we recognise the sacrifice many fans make to watch the team home and away. Continuing the freeze in match and season tickets for next season is driven by our belief in supporting fans attending our games.

“The introduction of reduced ticket prices for young adults in the Stretford End lower tier stems from suggestions generated by fan groups through our Fans’ Forum, aimed at building on the tradition of vibrant support.”

Makes me sick reading stuff like that. I remember the days when I used to slag United off for pricing out their hardcore fanbase and I remember saying to my rag mates when we were taken over that we’d do it a different way. We’ve not. We’ve done it exactly the same as them. Pricing out many of those who were there in the dark days, with their year-on-year increases, to pave the way for the tourists, glory-hunters and half-and-half scarves. I remember the £95 ticket we used to do for u16s, I bet that’s quadrupled in price now. Amazing season on the pitch but these ticket prices are a slow cancer in our club.

My brother's in the same situation and hasn't been moved. I suspect they haven't got anyone to fill the seats if they kick you out.

I doubt they have thought it through that far. Depends where you are, as the less central seats had people who were told they had to move and then told they could stay.

Seen lots about giving up the cup schemes and surely, the increase in price for ST’s will be offset by people giving them up , but how many people do we reckon are on the champions league cup scheme? Do we think that we’re at the point of cup scheme = ticket to a final presuming we get to one, and presuming this years is what, 19,000??

The same thing happened last season.

We all basically posted the same things.

It didn't work.

They don't listen.

They aren't bothered.

Is it 10 price rises in 11 seasons?

This, while PL money, CL money, Sponsors money, the players money and win bonuses keep on going through the Etihad roof.

All in all a big f*** off to the fans.

Lump it or fuck off, as there will be other City fans who want your season ticket.
This year I’m ditching one of the cup schemes (not decided which yet) and moving down from Platinum to Gold (if I can do that), so their stupid price rise will actually end up in a reduction for me as a fuck off to them instead of their annual fuck off to me because I’m fucking sick of it

Just checked back on last season's season ticket price.

The price for your current seat for the 2017/18 season is: Platinum 17/18: £665.00

Next season.

The price for your current seat for the 2018/19 season is: Platinum 18/19 : £685.00

So, £20 more. £1 more a game.

People will say why are you moaning?

Because it's another consecutive season ticket price rise that didn't have to be made.

If the price rises are due to inflation and running costs, look at reducing running costs.

Look at areas of the club where savings can be made.

Don't pass that (excuse) cost on to the fans every season.

Cut your cloth accordingly.

That excuse has worn out now.
The annoying thing is, the club give dozens and dozens of tickets away to players and staff to dish out to mates or family for free

So no real advantage then lol... I ditched league cup last year and I’ll probably do the same with CL this year. More chance of winning the FA Cup unless we play Wigan again so I’ll keep that on. Losing Platinum saves £50 quid
You used to be able to sell your ticket on but that was extended to Gold ages ago and Platinum listed seats don't get sold ahead of Gold (though you do get full seat price back with Platinum) - so unless you're a hard-core away fan (as I used to be in the late 70's till 1987) they're pretty much useless.

I would like Khaldoon in his end if season interview to explain why there has been 10 season ticket price increases in the last 11 seasons, with 1 season ticket price freeze. And how he can justifi that, while many other PL clubs are continually freezing season ticket prices, or even reducing season ticket prices in some cases.

Perhaps he could also tell us how much further he, Soriano, and the City Execs can push and squeeze more money out of City fans before they realise they can't squeeze anymore money out of City fans.

Are the club going to use the cost of inflation and running costs for another season ticket price rise in season 2019/2020? Perhaps he can explain why running costs can't be reduced across the board, instead of increasing season ticket prices to justifi those costs.

It will be interesting to see how much matchday tickets will be next season. Looks like £60+ Matchday tickets could be hit next season. We're around the £58 mark ATM.

I have decided to bin the League Cup and FA Cup schemes next season.I'll keep the CL cup schemes while Pep is at City. We've got a chance of winning it with Pep. After he leaves I will bin that as well.

Crunch those numbers City!

My grandson had that £95 ticket for years but for next season has risen to £135 which I presume is now he is 16.
Still fantastic value at just over £7 a match.

We'll see if these figures are true and accurate in the coming Weeks.

The facility fee is based on United having more matches on the TV. Not sure that will be the case?

Either way, the figures can't be that far off.

Premier League Prize Money 2018 (Complete breakdown of entire tv money fund)

Premier League has confirmed the TV money distribution and prize money for 2017-18 season and the eventual winners of this year’s premier league title will take home more than £150 million.
