I'm against the price rises. I'm pretty confident most of the reasons have already been set out here, so I won't repeat them. I also think that the £150 premium for Gold+ is completely wrong. I think it's unfair to pay a premium for the exact same product as someone else, and it could also be seen as getting as much as possible from those who are desperate for a season ticket; given that there are no "normal" tickets on the market. We did achieve a bit of movement on the premium. Like 1894 and the Foodbank, I've been happy to share these thoughts in the media too.

The club told City Matters about the price increases last Thursday and I and some of the other representatives made similar points to many here. I asked about the reasoning for the price increase and, in my view, I didn't receive a very convincing answer - the increase in operating costs were mentioned.

I appreciate that many will be questioning the point of City Matters in all of this and, trust me, I am well aware that the group has struggled to move the dial on the key strategic issues for supporters. However, under the Premier League's push regarding the Fan Engagement Standard, groups such as ours are here to stay, and I think it is important that there is someone at the table who can share fan sentiment with decision makers. For those of you who may have been priced out, I'm sorry that we couldn't make a bigger impact.

Do they understand the general feeling amongst core supporters that we’re being shafted to make way for new fans who’ll happily come in and spend more money? Do they even remotely care?

The term legacy fans was first used during the ESL fiasco. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if that’s how they refer to us now behind closed doors. I’m also pretty convinced that the club hierarchy are now every bit as bad as those who were meeting behind closed doors to help organise and finance the whole thing. At the time I felt City were given a “now or never” ultimatum on the whole thing, but no more, if it ever resurfaces I’m sure they’d go exactly where the money is.

Mine is now £1075. That’s £107.50 per month. That’s on top of all the tickets I buy for my son for each game. Plus the cup games. Plus the away games. It’s just too much.

And the harsh reality of your post is,should you give your season ticket up the club will make double the amount of money by selling it on a match to match basis,plus potential merchandise sales.
Which is exactly what they want and unfortunately we are the sacrificial lambs.

I'm in a mess, thought I'd had til may to sort it out. I'd put some aside to renew but has spent it on emergencies and thought I had longer to grab back the missing £500 :( I have to pay for two tickets, and have no income. Staggered along managing til now really, I think this year is d day.. stood in the school pick up queue absolutely gutted. Has those seats since 2003, same view as Maine road. Just need to find it in two weeks. Can't do tye credit option, as no income so fail credit things. I'd ask my sister but at the moment she's a tight arsed woman. Harsh. But true. Any banks with dodgy locks I can rob ;) :(

If you are on direct debit, you shouldn't need to make a payment until July and I don't believe they do a credit check. Likewise, the club also introduced last year a Renew Now, Pay Later option whereby you can pay the full amount in July.

I suggested something pretty similar to the club early on in City Matters.

They had come up with a number of possible schemes (including a midweek and weekend season ticket). We didn't think much of the club's suggestions but I made a counter-proposal where you paid s sum up-front, then bought match tickets nearer the time, with your upfront payment being used to offset the cost of the match ticket (say by £10) until it was all used up (i.e., when you'd bought 15 tickets. Or the £10 could be used for all 19 PL games, meaning you'd get better value the more games you attended.

If they're not using the upfront £150 in that way then that defeats the object in my opinion.

That was my suggestion with the Gold+ product when the club told us, Colin. Likewise, I think it is hard to defend it with the current premium.

If you go to 15 games, you may as well get a season ticket and leave the 4 games empty as that would be far cheaper

They’ll make more money at the moment, but in the long term, nothing is guaranteed

They might as well take down all those "My first City match" billboards inside the Stadium. They mean fuck all to the club.

As one of the thoughtfully and sensitively named FOC's on here :-) I have found out that my ticket in South L 2 (219) has apparently gone up to £390 from £350, so an approx 11.5% increase. I think that equates to £20.52 per game. By way of contrast I am in Burton on Trent this weekend and am taking in the Burton v Port Vale game. My FOC standing ticket for that game is costing me £16.00. An OAP season ticket for that area this season was £270 albeit for 23 matches. I could do more maths to calculate costs per game and locations and really bore you to death. Bottom line is that for a few quid more I get to watch the World Champions, however, for those struggling and with multiple tickets to buy I can only offer sympathy about these rises. Without reviewing our latest Accounts I cannot recall what percentage of our income is derived from ticket sales and what it will likely be after the 24/25 rise.

It doesn’t seem like there is much point in city matters and if the club have decided something, no matter how awful, they will do it.

Have you ever considered working with say the 1894 group or other fan groups to set up a propert supporters trust. You would have more influence over the club in my opinion.
