My friend is a bit blind and was issued with like a special set of headphones years ago to listen to the game aswell. They asked her to return them at the end of last season and said she’ll be getting a new, fancier set before this season starts. No news about getting new Season Cards sent out, or using last years with incorrect details.
Just sent everyone the telephone version.
I've just been checking on the NFC capabilities on my 12month old Nokia C32 and it appears that it is unable to use NFC .Always have issues with NFC outside so usually just shove my phone in the hole (oo-er) so, could be a faff from now on.
Strange thing is NFC works fine in the bar areas.
I didn't realise you could still buy a phone that wasn't NFC capable, best contact the club to see if they will give you a cardI've just been checking on the NFC capabilities on my 12month old Nokia C32 and it appears that it is unable to use NFC .
I ain't buying another new phone, will there be an alternative way to going through the new turnstiles ??
Mine's a reasonably new Motorola about 2 years old, I tried the NFC outside the first 3/4 games after I'd got it obviously with NFC enabled but nowt, as I posted the NFC on it does work inside the ground.I've just been checking on the NFC capabilities on my 12month old Nokia C32 and it appears that it is unable to use NFC .

Cheers pal, I will have to visit the ticket office in the next few days.I didn't realise you could still buy a phone that wasn't NFC capable, best contact the club to see if they will give you a card
I remember looking at this when it was first introduced at the club. My android mobile wouldn’t work consistently, that was a Motorola too. Some weeks were fine then the following week it just wouldn’t work. I swapped to an iPhone and it’s been totally solid. I remember reading about how the NFC system works and just came to the conclusion that Motorola phones had a weaker return signal than what was required and/or the turnstiles were a bit naff. Hopefully for you the new turnstiles should have more modern technology and be tested on all the popular phone models. Fingers crossed.Mine's a reasonably new Motorola about 2 years old, I tried the NFC outside the first 3/4 games after I'd got it obviously with NFC enabled but nowt, as I posted the NFC on it does work inside the ground.
All very strange but didn't really matter, it might do this season though.
I'm in similar position. My Samsung A14 does not have NFC. I always used to use the barcode scanners when still on matchday membership. Hoping they leave a barcode scanning option for those of us that don't have NFC.I've just been checking on the NFC capabilities on my 12month old Nokia C32 and it appears that it is unable to use NFC .

I agree with you pal, but at the moment there are no barcodes on the digital ticket that arrived today.I'm in similar position. My Samsung A14 does not have NFC. That happened to my son a couple of times last year when they had to scan him in. But he did get an email from city saying that he’d left his seat empty and don’t do it again. He had to ring them to explain. My phone also struggles with NFC. Barcode worked for me much better.
My worry is if a steward does let me in then I hope it registers as me actually scanning the ticket especially as city are clamping down on non attendance
What type of phone do you have? It’s not a city wallet. Either Apple or Google I think. Not downloaded my season ticket yet.
What is the wallet like?
Is it a City wallet, or is it an Android or Apple wallet?
Yep, happened earlier this year as well and was confirmed to be an error by the OSC.Bit off topic but I've had 4 requests via email for payment to the nashville supporters club this morning anybody else?

You should be fine. The new turnstiles I hope will have the same technology but will probably be more reliable. Apple phones from release 5 all have NFC, it’s Android phones that might be an issue and more likely the cheaper makes/models.Are the new turnstiles new technology compared to previous years ?. I do have an old iphone 6s (I know) and holding it up to the reader has worked with no issues both at the Etihad and Wembley, for example. The ticket is safely in the wallet but hope I dont get issues first game of the season.
