Seasoncard - 2021/22

I reckon about half who defer won't be back. No criticism, it is how these things work, gradual withdrawal rather than cold turkey.

Come June 2022 it will be 26 months since the last payment, and people will realise they can live without it and are much better off for doing so.

The most interesting games at home are normally in the domestic cups and cost £10 or £15, rather than £35/£40 on a season ticket, and out of a season which could well have 30 home games, going to to 5 key knock out ones for about £60/£70 seems a much better option than paying 10 times as much for 19 generic league games.

With COVID-19 it is like a Tale of Two Cities, some have taken big hits, whilst others are completely unaffected and saved obscene amounts of money with nothing to spend it on and no travel to work costs. So clearly some are gagging at the bit to get back and spend money, whilst others can leave it a year. The last 15 months will definitely, and understandably, changed a lot of people's priorities.
If the comments on this thread are representative of City season card holders then most of the people deferring don't want what the “hassle” of getting refunds of postponed games etc. Some Blues will have health reasons and / or be suffering financial hardships so City Matters were probably right to negotiate a deferral.

I think more season cards will be available because people or families who keep a “spare” for family members or business customers who make a minority of games will have had chance to reflect and realise they haven’t really been getting good value. That said, the price of buying a ticket off an agency for the home games against the dippers and the rags would probably add up to the cost of most season cards. Hopefully, there are Blues who have have wanted season cards for a while who can now get them.

It is clear from the thread that some people who are deferring don’t really enjoy going to watch City anymore so I don’t understand why they want to defer?

I suspect some will have been adversely effected financially by the pandemic but, for most, it's the equivalent of a trial separation.

It must be a thankless task working on Supporter Services. Every time there is a change in ticketing policy there are people on here wanting their particular circumstances to be treated better than the rest of the fan base.

City are being good offering deferrals. Likewise, the offer of interest free Direct Debit is good for most fans. The free plane tickets to Porto were very good too. Some Blues couldn’t book these because they couldn’t get through on the helpline after the IT had been adapted to prioritise independent travellers. (Of course Blues should have got tickets who travelled independently).

Every time the online ticketing system is changed this carries risks in terms of customer services. Helpline capacity isn’t helped where people who were lucky enough to get tickets Vs Everton phone up to complain about lack of booze in the ground or are trying to pass on their tickets to their mates or family.

I was on the phone for 3 hours to Supporter Services about the free flight tickets. I didn’t like it but I accept the glitches because the benefit outweighs the cost. I also know that if I am on the phone to City in a queue after 6pm, the likelihood is that I will be cut off. If I was deferring I wouldn’t expect the on-line ticketing system to be changed at short notice because this could mess up the situation for Blues trying to renew.

Equally. Supporter Services aren’t above criticism and the system could be improved.

it's a common problem when organisations fail to test mass systems like ticketing most of the complaints could be addressed at source before they get to supporters it's short sighted and ultimately more wasteful for the club staff and supporters who have to spend hours fixing things when a small pilot trail would eradicate many potential glitches and work out some simple fool proof communication and guidance for fans Equally odd that city don't get a group of blue moon posters to run the pilot would save us all the misery and weeks of moaning about this and that . Don't blame the staff they are so far down the food chain they are stuck with insufficient systems and are trying their best

I have decided to defer, spoke to the club yesterday however no confirmation was received other than verbal. For those who have decided to defer and completed the process did you get an e mail confirmation? If not , any suggestions how I can check my “ deferred ” status? Cheers
Was there anything in the conversation that couldn't have been done by a simple tick box to defer on the web site ?. Why do they need to speak to us ?

Try ,try, all you can to renew, but nowhere in “my account”is the £500+ credit the club is not showing this credit in any in the “ renewal system. No body was available anywhere in the complex yesterday. We ,the supporters have to put up with this crap every time the “Ticket Office”is involved. The complaints are made and sod all gets done. The computer system designers for tickets renewals should be fired,go to the Connell school on the complex the pupils their could do the job as part of their work experience.Sorry for the rant,pissed-off.We should be able to charge the club for time wasted over Six hours wasted this week.

A tick box is fine but how then does it cancel your payment whilst retaining your rights to a season ticket a year down the line.

I have run big teams in the NHS that’s included the development of IT and there is often a lot more to it tha first meets the eye.
