Seasoncard - 2021/22

Not sure why you think your in the majority, I like many others have no issues with this . I have not asked every season ticket holder so I won't claim to be in the majority , but I suspect I am
I think most fans will broadly support a move towards digital tickets. They are already used now for theatre and cinema tickets, flights , etc etc. But I doubt if a majority of fans would support the cack-handed way the club has communicated this to all its customers. I also think fans are right to be sceptical about the shambolic state of the club's website for example. The club's past record with technology doesn't exactly inspire confidence. It is not good business sense to alienate any section of your paying customers.

I've not asked everyone either but judging by the many comments and given that the core of our support are probably in the 50+ age group I'd say it's unpopular amongst many.

It's not a point scoring or popularity contest though is it? It is clearly causing unnecessary stress and concern amongst, without asking all of them of course, a large proportion of our fanbase. As both the phone method and a plastic seasoncard do the same thing, open a turnstile, I can't see why people who want to continue with the card can't.

The phone method is being enforced upon us and because you don't have a problem with it doesn't mean it's right.

What is the cheapest NFC enabled phone you can get? New not an ebay sale item. Had a look on argos at phones upto £100 but despite these claiming to be high tech and some only released in 2020/21 none were NFC enabled.
Alcatel 922 or similar about £60 at Carphone wharehouse

My dad is 75 and has just fucked his ticket off after I don't know how many years.
I'm considering it aswell as my ohone is shit and simply can't be arsed with this. I only renewed coz my son is obsessed with city.....who doesn't have a phone.
This is the sort of thing that breaks my heart, seeing die hard City fans who were there in the bad times, not even being given a second thought by the club.
They're being made to feel that pissed off that they feel they can't go anymore.
If City ever did go shit again in the future, these are the sort of fans they'd be desperate to get back.

Pretty sure he will be ,one thing I've learnt over the years is the moaning on a bluemoon thread is fairly unrepresenttative of the whole support. Most just adapt and get on with it.

In the end people have no choice if they want to attend a game but to adapt and get on with it. Again it doesn't mean they want or support it when the system we had was perfectly useable.

To be fair this issue is all over other forums and Facebook but it really only impacts on matchgoing hard-core supporters. In a sense it doesn't really matter how many people are upset about it (I think it is probably a significant portion). As a club we can't afford to lose any of our paying customers. This is a fragile time for football clubs (even big ones) following a pandemic and the reputation-damaging Super League row. The country is very divided at the moment and we need us City fans to stick together.

There is a small part of me almost wishes that was the case just to give the tossers a bloody nose. Let's see what the "Matchday experience " and all singing dancing look down their nose at the old style Blue who kept the club going though the shit times new high tech kids on the block do then.

" You need to upgrade your phone to the latest model at £1,000, which can only be purchased through the club shop in order to attend York away." Yeah fuck right off.
