Such ridiculous nonsense that goes on at modern football stadiums. It's like living under a communist regime. Everybody is supposed to act like robots and do as they are told. If people don't push back soon, they will be refusing you access for not wearing at least 2 items of club merchandise, or for excessive clapping.

They should be kissing your backsides for purchasing a season card and buying their beer, but they don't. They treat everybody like criminals.

It really is fucking ridiculous. Why the hell can't a grown man sit outside, enjoy a beer out of a PLASTIC bottle whilst watching a football match. When did that become a criminal offence!?

I know this law (criminal offence (Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985) is bollocks, It's say's "Sporting Events" not "football events" yet I bet you on the 10th Oct you can't drink what you like at a seat in the Etihad !

What requirements do we currently see in relation to football stadiums?
In the present day following the Taylor Report we see the following legal conditions which must be adhered to for all football stadiums throughout the country:

• All stadiums must be all seater
• There must be appropriate segregation of rival sets of supporters
• There must be appropriate amounts of stewards in specific areas of the stadiums
• The club security must work in accordance with the Police in providing access to certain areas of the stadium – for example the main control room
• The smoking ban extends to all areas of a football stadium - Smoke-free (Premises and Enforcement) Regulations
• No alcohol can be drunk in site of the pitch

So if a game of rugby is taking part in side a FOOTBALL stadium the same rules should surely apply. Especially drinking alcohol in sight of the pitch.

It is shit and if anything puts me off the game it is all this stuff.
When i used to travel to the states a lot i would look forward to going through security as those guys follow the rules and no common sense is used. I would be amazed at the way these people acted and th total lack of any cognitive processes attributed to interpersonal communication.
I never thought that manor of robotic reasoning with no thought for anything besides applying rules and regulations with no regard for their intent would show on our shores.
I hardly think the op is a flashpoint for drunken hooliganism basically.

This side of society in general really worries me, not sure why but it feels like we are very much on the wrong road.
