Seasoncard Renewal thread 2016/17 - Prices Frozen

Do West Ham and Everton and any other clubs who have SC reductions for next season need a reality grip too?

Football tickets have been too expensive for a decade and have just kept rising. Football has finally realised that £30 for away tickets is plenty, that's over a 50% drop from a few clubs who've been charging £67-72 in the last few years so why not, while the climate is right for when this giant new TV deal has come in, wouldn't a club say "we are going to get rid of all this Platinum bollocks, drop your SC by £50 and freeze that for five years"? It would do more in a business sense because of customer satisfaction than signing world class players would.

Plus I don't go bowling every other Saturday at Pars Wood then travel around the country on other Saturdays bowling in Leicester, North London, Bournemouth and Sunderland. Nor do I travel around when a band goes on tour to every gig they do.
if i was a everton fan i would expect a lot more than the reduction they are offering they are complete dogshit ditto west ham although they have had one good season in a very weird season

The ST prices are OK by me but agree that the match by match purchases are a bit steep. I get the arguments about the TV cash and how they can charge a quid and it still works but they ain't going to happen.
On the other hand the cost of food and drink at the stadium is where I'd look to reduce. The quality of the food isn't that bad all round but some of the prices need reviewing, and the beer Christ!

Given that there appears to have been a clampdown on SC allocations as well as points whoring of late, I wouldn't be quite so hasty in thinking that you'd get an away ticket 90% of the time in future just by joining a supporters club. And with this new system for European aways that's been implemented you've got zero fucking chance of getting one in future if you can't get one in your own name, regardless of how many supporters clubs you're a member of.

It's not a myth - without going Platinum, I wouldn't have got a ticket for Sevilla away or the Rags away this season and that's just for starters.

As for your last comment, you might want to have a word with yourself.

I am only winding you up, you people on these forums need to stop taking life so seriously :) or more importantly, get one!

No, i've thought about it and with the massive rise in TV income for MCFC I think they should have cut prices to some degree.
I guess that Ferran Soriano doesn't want the ground full.

I'm ok with the price of my ticket, think most season ticket holders are hence why they sell out.
unfortunately football is a business

So we finally get a token price freeze when the TV money increase should really knock something off.... don't get me wrong i'm glad we're frozen, but again with the TV deal and other clubs doing so it would've been PR suicide to put it up this time, they'll be saving that for in a years time.

Mine went up £180 in only 3 seasons (£60 a season 3 years in a row ffs!) so a freeze is the least they could do..
Same here Kippax. City could easily reduce them if the fans really were important to the owner. The premier league is swimming in money now, a freeze is nothing to be grateful for, it is disappointing.

WHU are also going from a 35,000 stadium to a 60,000 one so have to entice anyone dithering over a ST.
