Seasoncard Renewals 2017/18

You shouldn't have to live with it though. Ticket income is a minor part of our overall revenue stream, about 12-13% in our case. And probably half of that comes from hospitality/corporate customers so it's about 6-7% from the plebs like us. Ticket prices have gone up by well over the rate of inflation in the last few years, probably something like 40-50% in the last six years or so. Also we'll be getting an additional £50m from domestic TV rights this season and the next two. There is no excuse for an increase.

I totally agree mate I'm just saying £30 isn't enough to put me off.

So what would put you off - £40, £50? Serious question by the way not sarcastic or rhetorical. At what point would you say no?

And next year it'll be another £30 which people will say "Well it's only £30" but it'll have gone up 10% in 2 years when wage growth and inflation are nothing like that.

TBH mate I've absolutely no idea what would put me off as it's pretty much the only thing I like doing. I work all week and look forward to going supporting City and I wouldn't change it for the world. 1 thing that pisses me off more than the cost is the constant bad decisions going against us costing us in big games but that's for another thread.

I totally agree City should freeze or maybe lower the costs especially with the empty seats we have every game.

You don't watch a band 50 times a years every year, it is a one off. Plus bands get little other revenue these days and need to tour to make proper money. Football clubs like city get the vast majority of revenue from areas other than admission prices.

To be honest I think it's Prob a case of City holding a job interview for some marketing bod who does a PowerPoint presentation and convinces everyone that he/she will increase revenue by x amount over a 5 year period accompanied by some nice graphs. Gets job and then more senior bod is on their case asking for updates etc etc....the actual figures are irrelevant. It's the year or year growth etc. Revenue increases, the news goes up the chain....everyone happy! Except the fan!

If City think they can start charging London prices they will lose a lot of seasoncard holders.

The club isn't ready yet to rely on supporters coming from outside of Manchester like United currently do.

We can't fill the ground now so how we expect to charge more and get more people, through the gates is beyond me.

I called to ask about Joes and 93:20 and was told it was full but would I like to consider the tunnel club. How much I asked? £7,500 + Vat came the response!! And that's the cheapest option.

Prices should not go up the new tunnel club and the extra revenue from TVs should subsidise the normal fans prices. Another thing how can ffp be fair when cost of living differs so much around the uk

Seasoncard holders paying but not turning up for West Brom or Bournemouth won't bother City in the slightest. If 10% drop out then those Seasoncards will be snapped up by people on the waiting list.

I will tentatively renew but if I can't relocate for somewhere with a bit more atmosphere then I'll cancel the direct debit and shove it down Soriano's mouth.
