Seasoncard Renewals | Slight Price Increase

is that ok with you?

the vast majority of city fans aren’t in supporters clubs. I was just trying to think of large city fan organisations that might be able to speak up for our fanbase.
Yes that’s fine mate. Each to their own.

The reality is that Supporters Club Branches are part of the solution, helping members who are struggling, to access cheaper tickets (or sometimes free) from other members who have to miss some games. I don’t need one of the leaders of the OSC to be on the TV and radio all the time. It’s enough of a thankless job helping Blues 7 days a week on a voluntary basis.

It’s good to be a season card holder but it’s not essential, especially when people face rising costs of living and conflicting priorities. The other Clubs some posters have cited on here for ticket prices sell more match day tickets than us and it’s not all about season cards.

I know the number crunchers at City get a bad time on here but they will have access to all the profiles of all of us season ticket (I refuse to call it a season card) holders. The number of us who will be reaching the FOC age in the next few years (if not there already) is probably alarming them as the price of our tickets drop. If there were no price increases then with the age profile of our season ticket holders annual income on season tickets would probably drop for each of the next 5-10 seasons. This isn't posted as support for the increase in price but merely an observation.
That's a fair point. I'm an FOC and despite supporting City for 60 years I suppose like many others I'm the sort of fan (or customer) the club may consider they can do without. My only expenditure at the stadium is my seasoncard and programme. I don't shop in the City Store, nor buy the shite they serve up in paper cups at the bar. I suppose they have to get the dosh from somewhere. Not complaining about the £10 increase in my SC as I still consider it cheap for the football we see. I do think however that in the current economic climate a one season price freeze across the board would have been appropriate as a gesture to the loyalty of fans who they are constantly saying they value so much.

There's a lot of cunts on this thread....but I think you might qualify as King ****. With the cash in the Prem League, there is no justification to keep raising prices, especially when other clubs have frozen them.

Thanks Dave.

I agree about the amount of money in the game, it is total greed. That is a larger issue and voting with your feet by not renewing or staging walkouts is not going to do anything. We are all replaceable as the product is so sought after by the masses.

Moaning over £20 isn't going to do anything. The only hope we have really is that the game eats itself but can't see that happening any time soon. Super League MK2 is on the cards whether we like it or not, we have no real say as fans of a top club, and haven't for a long time.

I deferred last season for various reasons but will be renewing mine and my son's.

You can have my season tickets for you and your mum to sit together, whenever I can't go or be arsed, if you would like that?

Probably six or seven of those each season.

I can also sort you out with IPTV for £70 if that's something you can stretch to, it really does pay for itself and you get to watch City, home and away, plus everything your son will love in terms of Disney plus, Netflix, Amazon, prime, all the Sky channels, films, etc.

I will wire you the £70 if needs be and also have a brand new Amazon 4K firestick to set it up with, which I could mail you.

Sorry for your dilemma but the offer is genuinely there and just a token gesture.

Just PM me if that's something you would like.

Best wishes to your family and mum.
Top fella.
Fantastic gesture.

That’s a kind post mate. If you and your son haven’t got tickets for the Newcastle game you can have 2 I’ve bought for people (who aren’t now going) FoC. They are in SSL3 I think so no worries if not interested

Thanks for very kind offer mate, have already sorted us for Newcastle and Villa.

Blues helping Blues, as it should be.

I have sent a message to my local branch, as we have not had a meeting for quite a while, asking the question but I am not holding my breath I am afraid @Tim of the Oak. :-)

I always try to bite my tongue on renwel days, as someone will answer my post with "well i didn't mean you" ;)

But i don't have a job, i'm a stay at home mum with an illness that may make me paralysed in a few years (or may not), my only income is child benefit of £80ish a month, and £35 a week child tax credit, i live with my partner who works full time, and we live in a rented home with our little boy. We don't have pay tv, we don't drink, we don't eat out, we have nothing to cut out on.

Yet i am also meant to pay for mum 79 year olds mums season ticket as well (!), as she has no money. So i'm in that rut, that depression, of city have been my life, my life, yet i should give up financially. It's only because we both had to miss games this season through illness so have some ticket exchange money i kept to one side that i can even think of asking my other half to put up a few hundred to help. You'll say i shouldn't be going then - but this is my point about emotional blackmail of long term lifelong fans - muum is 79, if i stop her going now then that's it for mum, she's not in great health, it's out bonding time, our day out. And me, i'm supposed to be living for the moment in case the worst happens. So do i stop going and stay sat at home with 3 woolly hats and a sleeping bag to keep me warm? Or do i keep going, while i can. They say "it'll be on telly", we don't have anything other than freeview, i don't get to watch us on telly. And it's being there, with mum...

So yes, i know, the quoted post wasn't aimed at people like me.

But it does bug me every years when the speech about "prioritise outgoings and stop other hobbies and cut things out" comes up - some people have nothing left to cut out, other than life.

Byebye, off to put my son to bed.

Thanks @kippaxkid74, that's one way to make me look an even worse human being haha! I think you realised my opinion wasn't pointed in the direction of you. You are the heartbeat of our club and will be one of many who make it happen at all costs without complaining. They prey on our addiction but we've all known that for years. I take my hat off to you for your commitment to the club, my point was at the wealthy or privileged moaners who want their cake as well as eating it.

Fair play to @tolmie's hairdoo, incredible gesture. I'll take people's difference of opinions all day, it's what makes the world go round. You're clearly not one of the serial take merchants that I was referring to.

I've not checked but I bet nearly every seat at the Swamp is more expensive than at City. We are offered fantastic value for the level of product we receive.
Like for like mine would be £532 at theirs and is £725, but if ten rows further back mine would be £703, and corner is £798 which is more expensive. They don't have the back of third tier prices but they don't go anywhere near as expensive as ours.
