Season's Over For Me

With Chelsea back on track, Liverpool looking revived under "King Kenny" and Spuds grinding out decent results we can now see them clearly in our rear view mirror coming up fast.

We may have to revise our expectations from a top 4 finish. Perhaps Europa Cup football waits for us next season.

With Balotelli out for the long haul, Dzeko still finding his feet whilst Jo is obviously a joke, our strike force is not fit for purpose.

You're right, we might be forced to play Tevez and Silva up front.

Nightmare.

Balotelli out for the long haul...?

Record under King Kenny:

LLDLWW

Not exactly a revival. They beat Stoke and Fulham at home. Relegation candidates beat Stoke and Fulham at home.

Hart

Richards
Kompany
K Toure
Kolarov

Balotelli
Y Toure
De Jong
Silva

Dzeko
Tevez

Far too defensive this manager and there is no hope for us with that sort of 11

The end of the world is nigh!

Balotelli will be back no sooner than late February. In a worst case scenario, if the surgery is unsuccessful we may not see him again till August. Assuming he does stay.

If we have to rely on Silva and Tevez as a strike force we are going to fail. They are top rate attacking MF's. Silva is not a prolific scorer.

Up front our striking options are strictly limited. Think about it. Compare it with the competition.

Making matters worse is the loss of AJ for three months. A significant loss as we know how effective he is at changing a game, not just from his ability to go past defenders but also from the deliveries to colleagues in the box.

Not qualifying for the champions league would be nothing short of a disaster, regardless of what happens in the cups

What surgery ?

Mario Balotelli returned to Manchester on Monday with City manager Roberto Mancini spying the derby clash at Old Trafford later this month as a potential comeback match for the controversial Italian.

Mancini has been relieved to discover the knee injury Balotelli suffered scoring a hat-trick against Aston Villa on December 28 is not as bad as he initially feared and the youngster will not require an operation.

fbloke, that starting eleven is just not good enough.

Take a long hard look at it. If you can't see that it lacks pace then you must want us to fail.

It cannot play with intensity as is evidenced by teams like Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal.

Balotelli is mentioned. When expect to see him back? March? April?

It was intended as an illustration of the talent we have available.

It would be hard to use that 11 in most games but look at who isnt even in the 11 and you will see we dont lack much.

Although I agree we could do with more pace in midfield if nothing than breaking down opposition and taking advantage of opportunities to break away.
