Seat Counters - 2022/23

Attendance: 51,610
Excellent considering the appalling weather, less than 100 away fans & a dead rubber.
It was a good crowd as you say but there were a few patches of empty seats. Yes the weather was awful but I had numerous layers on and was ridiculously over dressed, I felt far too warm, esp in the second half when there was more to get excited about.

The empty seats were no shows. The game sold out ages ago.

Thought it was a good turn out for a complete dead rubber. Just a few empty seats but I think that was more to do with the weather and transport issues. My dad didn't fancy it due to the weather and my brother was up early for work so didn't fancy it either

A lot of no shows then.

I cant see how someone could buy a ticket and then can it just because of a bit of rain or that its not a full team.Understand some have genuine issues but all the same.

Fcuk me we criticise united for fickle support too but they did better than us v a pub team last Thursday.

It'll be cup scheme people who made the decision not to come late in the day. I get it, if I'm honest. I did go last night, but I don't live that far away and I don't have to navigate public transport to get there. If I was travelling from, say, Huddersfield and having to do the shit show of a rail network + tram + a late night + the cost of a couple of beers + the weather + a nothing game I'd have been seriously tempted to stay home. The £20 or whatever is already priced in, and guarantees you seats at bigger and better games, but all the other costs are saved.

I thought the attendance was brilliant overall.

I think we could have filled more of those empty seats if the club let people list their tickets on the exchange for cup games too. The reasons for allowing that vastly outweigh the reasons to not do it.

I can understand fans who live outside of GMR giving it a miss last night. It was a dead rubber. But I know 3 City fans who wanted to go, and didn't, because there weren't any tickets available (other than the odd spare here and there).

Yes good explanation that.

But why the Dippers and united dont have the same problem from a bunch of out of town plastics is my concern.

They both have an historic international fan base who fly in, plus, I'm really not that embarrassed of that, a bigger "casual" fan base. If I don't go to a game I don't have 5 people who are City fans who never go who'd snap up my ticket where my United supporting cousin-in-law (is that a thing?) has a load of rags that he works with who have been to Old Trafford twice in their life.
