Seat Counters - 2024/25

I am half-Iraqi half-English. I hate the half and half scarves. I see loads of fans sitting in the match-day seats with them on. But it doesn't mean that they are tourists. It's just become a big merchandising thing to sell those scarves. I don't mind the idea of a City / Plymouth scarf but when it comes to wearing the crest of Man Utd or Liverpool, I don't see how you do it. I think fans walking up to the game see these scarfs on sale and think that they are buying into the culture.

Yep. It’s getting like OT when you go to the games now. So many glory hunters. Comes with success unfortunately.
It is I'm afraid.

The only way to somehow counter it would be, in my opinion, make the majority of the new stand only accessible to long serving and vociferous fans. I've banged on about this enough and I still retain hope. So there would still be "an end" full of hardcore blues. A combination of season tickets, loyalty points and access (first choiuce for the current vocal areas) would achieve that. The tourists can sit on the bottom tier bit that massive top tier could be the traditional heart and soul of City.

But we aren't going to stop the tourists coming.

Looks like Plymouth have pretty much sold out there end on season ticket holders many of them complaining hundreds of tickets never went on sale for them in level 2 though and all gone to corporate and others sounds familiar that

Leeds will be in the PL next season. It will be the same home crowd and the same away crowd that is there in the championship. And that also applies for Sheff United if they get to the PL next season.

It would be the same for us if we were coming up from the championship tbf.

Sounds like they asked City to oversee their ticket selling process!

Just interesting that when the scousers threw a pint cup filled with coins down from SS3, seriously injuring a teenage girl, there was no CCTV anywhere to be seen
The police have cameras pointed everywhere and CCTV all around as I know to my cost..2008 I was spotted having a hmm let's say altercation with a dipper fan in 3rd tier CB stand..
So there's no way they couldn't pinpoint the **** who threw the pint pot full of coins from the SS at the young girl.
For whatever reason they let the murderers get away with lots ( nearly said murder lol)..
The club ultimately are tempting fate with the policy of allowing away fans in the home end..if a City fan points them out the stewards should check if they are indeed away fans and if they are removed them before it kicks off.
In the heat and emotion of a match fans can easily get angered by away fans sat in their block and shit happens.. football is and probably always will be very tribal.

until long cup runs, champions league games, wembley the list goes on match day price increase = empty seats and tourists

This would make sense and perhaps even a neutral section for the genuine neutrals. As you say you can't stop tourists coming to watch City. It is the price of success. We just need to manage it better.

They can't do it on postcode. No chance. That will casue uproar.

When I said "Location" I mean location in the stadium. The existing safe standing areas should get first priority.
I seem to remember them using postcodes for a game in covid times. Was it the Spurs cup final or Everton last game of the season? You had to have a Manchester, Cheshire or Lancashire postcode to get a ticket. I live in Barrow in Furness in Cumbria but fortunately have an LA postcode as we used to be part of Lancashire.

Fulham had a stand next to the away fans for neutrals. Went in it a couple of times when I didn't qualify for tickets through city. I was one of many many city fans in there. Inevitably, if we had a neutral section it would be full of away fans. Imagine a Derby like that, it would be horrendous. Unfortunately, cannot see a neutral section working at the etihad.

Too many to count left for Plymouth. And to the regular seat flappers - for once these ARE NOT Seat Exchange tickets. They have not been sold.
