Seat Counters - 2024/25

Am I right in thinking this sold out at 25,000 points looking at the time of your message against the criteria announced? At 23,300ish points Brentford is one I haven't been able to do in all the years they've been in the Prem due to reduced allocation, a Tuesday night in Jan just after Xmas was potentially the best chance I had. Maybe we can get them in the 4th round of the cup with a slightly bigger allocation
You would be amazed at how many tourists get to this game! Loads last year.

As you may have seen from previous City Matters minutes (and I have raised it on here), the Club are considering the reintroduction of checks on some away tickets.

My initial view is that there could be merit in this, but with two significant caveats.

1. As much as possible, the process must not get in the way of supporter’s pre-match activities.

2. All cohorts of away ticket recipients must be subject to the checks.

It was mentioned that on one or two occasions, people would be able to transfer or return their away tickets, to account for illness or life getting in the way. But this would be limited to stop a workaround.

That said, welcome all input on this. Appreciate that people may have concerns given the queues and inconvenience at Celtic and Paris previously.

Personally, I think it’s an absolute piss take mate. Lads who have spent decades building up enough points to easily be in the top 3,000, are missing out on high demand games in ever increasing numbers, as fewer and fewer tickets are finding their way to points holders.

And now they’re saying, if you are privileged enough for us to honour you with the opportunity of buying a ticket, you may have to fuck about picking it up on the day?

I’m sure you will ask your point number 2 with the very best intentions. But honestly, no matter what their answer, we all know that the only group who will ever be asked to adhere to these checks are the ordinary punters.

As far as I’m concerned, there is only one question worth asking the club regarding away tickets.

Exactly how many tickets go where for each away game?

While they continue to refuse to answer that question, anything else is pointless discussing with them for me.

Thanks for your continued presence and engagement on here. And sorry if this post seems negative.

As it happens, I’ve asked for the bold on a fair few occasions. I have already informally done so again given recent occurrences at Anfield, but will do so more formally on the record.

I’ve had a lot of feedback on this and I recognise all the concerns people have shared. I will be opposing this in any meeting with the Club.

I was an advocate of picking up European away tickets on the day or the day before.
(I accept Celtic was a disaster)
But to ask the same for Premier League matches is just stupid and wrong.
A European match meant you were their early, flights etc. so you could pick up tickets but Celtic proved that a local fixture meant everyone arrives at the same time.
I am aware the rags do it, we need to knock this one on its head before it's implemented.

Alex.

I’m not having a go at you mate, as I know you do your best for the fans.

That fact that you’ve already asked on a few occasions and not been given that information, and have to ask again, tells you and us everything we need to know.

City won’t release those away ticket % details because they don’t want to. The club know if they do, the away going fans, and fans who want away tickets, but can’t get them as they are getting harder to get, would be furious. And even if the club did tell you and the other CMR, it would come with another NDA.

The people running the club don’t want to share any information like that with the fans. It’s the clubs business model. That is how the club has been run for years. You only have to look at the deliberate lack of ticketing and seating information regarding the new North stand. Again, I’m not having a go at you and the other CMR, but you can’t tell us what you know because the club have slapped a NDA on you, and you are obliged to go along with it.

City is and has been run like a secretive company for a long time. Only telling the fans what they need to know and nothing more, as and when the club see’s fit to make that information avaialble to the fans. And even then the information is clearly heavily vetted before being made public.

You’re doing a great job sticking up for the fans and trying to get honest information and answers from the club, but the club is tying your hands and gagging you, as well as the other CMR.

The secretive way the club is being run has come from the very top, either Khaldoon or Soriano. It can’t be anyone else, bar both of them or either of them.
