Seat Counters - 2024/25

Why would they?
If it’s true, it’ll be locked into a some form agreement. You sell 900 tickets at £30 a pop, it’s barely worth thinking about as a top Premier League club. Sell them at an average of £200 a go, you’ve got a few million over the season. Would members of our spreadsheet board take a few hundred thousand pounds from the fans or a million or two from a partnership?

Until we get confirmation, I’m willing to believe there’s something in that. Perhaps not the exact %, but something considerable which pushes the normal fan out.

I don't believe that for a second. City's cut of that money probably wouldn't pay an EDS player for a year.

That’s totally fair mate. However, it’d still be much more than they’d get selling at £30 a pop.

You just need to look around you at the London aways, Anfield, etc., to notice something strange is going on - groups of 4 or more standing together at their first game, saying they spent hundreds on their tickets. Do you think Soriano / the board of other clubs like having away ends full of people paying £30 a ticket? In their eyes, the less paying £30 a ticket, the better.

If Swales was still in charge I'd go along with this. As it stands I believe the away tickets that end up online come from the tickets that the corporates buy. The club plays no part in it.

@Alex - City Matters

I'm surprised you didn't resign after the club shamefully stone-walled your excellent report on the Istanbul fiasco.

I think you know how well you are thought of on here, a lone voice for us mere mortals, amongst a sea of self-serving City suits.
I will second this, the fact the club did SFA after the final still irks me now. The fact they did SFA after your fantastic report tells us all we need to know about how they really feel about us. Said it before but if the suits were to spend a few days with fans flight hopping across Europe to save some money, doss down four in a room, take three days off work etc just to watch the team we love then maybe they would have an ounce of sympathy with our plight.

Club playing no part is a big statement. They do even if it’s the corporate tickets they do.

We all accept a degree of touting and tourism etc but this scale it is an operation which the club are definitely aware and not trying to prevent …

Amen to that. The fact we’ve only put one flight on for the whole of this European Cup schedule is a disgrace. Yes, plane costs have soared but we should be prepared to take a few grand loss to ensure we put cheap flights on for the fans.,£350 for the day trip yesterday.

The only proven ticket touting operation on here was by a rival travel and ticket provider to City. Obviously, the mods quashed this when it came to light. It was alarming the lack of criticisms of the touts on here at the time.

City have let too many home tickets go to
Ticket agencies. We don’t know what happens with the away tickets but there will some Corporates and sponsors who sell on / pass on tickets and some touts who bought up tickets at the Etihad donkeys years ago and accrue the points to get hold iof away tickets. The players and management allocation might go to some fans of other clubs too.
