I also met a woman this week who is from Poznan (now living in Lancs) and she says her whole UK-based Polish family are big City fans. The demographic of Greater Manchester has changed hugely in the last decade and City have hoovered up a lot of new fans especially in working class areas of East and South Manchester (our original heartlands) There will huge numbers of Gala fans but most of them will be UK-based and, unlike United, we have no history of trouble with them. I hope it will all pass off peacefully (like the Etihad Poznan game did).Loads of people seem to support and English team on top of one from their country of origin or heritage, so who is saying they are not also City supporters?

The same happened after the match. I was there for four days and saw nothing. Before then I ended up drinking with a group of Lech fans who travelled to the Groclin game to support City. Perhaps there were some skirmishes but I saw nothing in Poland or Manchester.both games against Poznan didn't pass off peacefully.

Whether it’s in the club’s Ts&Cs to say that’s alright is one thing (even if it does because it says that fans of the home team should be the only people buying tickets in the home sections), but on a football fan cultural level they are not allowed to.They are allowed to.

Must have missed that. After the match we met a bunch of their ultras. They looked like a bunch of skinheads. But they took us to their pub and bought us free drinks. I heard something happened in the square but City fans didn’t get involved. I suppose everyone has some nutters. I’m not sure about Gala fans but they do hate United so perhaps it will be ok.In the square they come over and city fans come out of the pub, then about 30 mins later loads of them come out of the side streets and chased City fans around the square (me included) and we ended up running into local riot police with CIty football intelligence.
Home game, a group of them come to a pub tried starting something off (some in United tops) but the police stopped it.

Playing teams that will bring huge away followings - I’d rather we just have them the third tier instead.

In Germany the away fans often get 7,000 tickets in huge stadiums. It’s part of the culture. I have no problem with it as long as we can also get bigger allocations. It makes for better atmospheres. I guess it depends on the game. The Madrid game in another example - really big game and loads of city fans had no chance of getting tickets. I then get to the ground surrounded by Madrid fanboys - that’s not on.
There needs to be checks and balances to make sure actual city fans have a chance of tickets and if the demand isn’t there make it safe - give the away side more tickets
