Seat Counters 25/26

Well let’s hope they don’t turn up to the CL game in the Colin Bell stand wearing them then .
I wouldn't worry about it there won't be any concicuences, our fans are soft as fuck nowadays and allow away fans to take the piss every champions league game, only difference this time is that there will probably be more of them than us!

Loads of people seem to support and English team on top of one from their country of origin or heritage, so who is saying they are not also City supporters?

That is part of Soriano's Local Global Paradox. If you promote the club to any fans world wide, don't be surprised when they come.

Good luck to them, the club make the rules and they have followed them.
I know a group of Turkish lads(mostly Gala fans) who also follow City and go to plenty of our home matches and have been doing so for ten years. A lot of the new residents to Manchester follow City. I also met a woman this week who is from Poznan (now living in Lancs) and she says her whole UK-based Polish family are big City fans. The demographic of Greater Manchester has changed hugely in the last decade and City have hoovered up a lot of new fans especially in working class areas of East and South Manchester (our original heartlands) There will huge numbers of Gala fans but most of them will be UK-based and, unlike United, we have no history of trouble with them. I hope it will all pass off peacefully (like the Etihad Poznan game did).

No problem to me and if it helps towards a capacity attendance then the more the merrier

I just hope that Pep takes it seriously and we beat them 5-0
Then we can be really patronising hosts and everyone has a good time

Thankfully it hasn't got much to do with you.

There are more important factors than a capacity attendance.

No issue with decent and respectful fans of any club.

Our fans soft as fuck ?????
There'd a million cameras everywhere and a season ticket ban + court appearance.
Our fans got more sense maybe.

I don't think there was much trouble at the swamp. Rags complained about being frightened and intimidated and from the images I can sort of understand why.

If Blues buy up the vast majority of regular seats then the away fans will mainly be in the away end and corporate / hospitality with a few hundred scattered around the ground. If ticket restrictions are not tightened and security improved then there will be a lot more Gala fans in the home end.

It needs to be treated like there are thousands of bin dippers wanting to be in home stands. The Cup Scheme, points whores, would be reluctant to resell to Liverpool fans so let's hope both they and the Club are careful with this fixture.

If manged well. It could be a cracking game with a top atmosphere. Most of the fans should get on fine, fingers crossed.

both games against Poznan didn't pass off peacefully.

you likely just didn't see anything in or around the grounds.

I don't think Galatasary really care who they play, they just bring thousands

I went to both matches. The night before the away game some Poznan fans turned up in the main square looking for a fight but they ended up drinking with the City fans. The same happened after the match. I was there for four days and saw nothing. Before then I ended up drinking with a group of Lech fans who travelled to the Groclin game to support City. Perhaps there were some skirmishes but I saw nothing in Poland or Manchester.

They are allowed to.
Whether it’s in the club’s Ts&Cs to say that’s alright is one thing (even if it does because it says that fans of the home team should be the only people buying tickets in the home sections), but on a football fan cultural level they are not allowed to.

If I went to Rams Park in a City shirt for a Galatasaray Turkish league game, I’d expect to be taken out the back, mugged of my wallet, shoes and City shirt and beaten up for being a stupid **** wearing colours of another team in their stadium… and I wouldn’t complain about it because it would be my own fault for being a stupid ****.

In the square they come over and city fans come out of the pub, then about 30 mins later loads of them come out of the side streets and chased City fans around the square (me included) and we ended up running into local riot police with CIty football intelligence.

Home game, a group of them come to a pub tried starting something off (some in United tops) but the police stopped it.

Must have missed that. After the match we met a bunch of their ultras. They looked like a bunch of skinheads. But they took us to their pub and bought us free drinks. I heard something happened in the square but City fans didn’t get involved. I suppose everyone has some nutters. I’m not sure about Gala fans but they do hate United so perhaps it will be ok.

I’m not sure how great it is, being surrounded by away fans though. When we played Celtic a few years ago that experience was horrendous. There was fighting all over the home end.

Playing teams that will bring huge away followings - I’d rather we just have them the third tier instead.

It’s just not in uk football culture to have always fans in with the home fans.

Yes. Always a bit dodgy. Mind you Celtic fans were the worse we have ever seen. Targeting families and older fans. They were absolute scum at our place though, to be fair, they were fine at Parkhead. We could have given Gala the whole top tier. It may well be a dead rubber anyway.

Yes they were awful. Similar in a pre season game as well.

I guess it depends on the game. The Madrid game is another example - really big game and loads of city fans had no chance of getting tickets. I then get to the ground surrounded by Madrid fanboys - that’s not on.

There needs to be checks and balances to make sure actual city fans have a chance of tickets and if the demand isn’t there make it safe - give the away side more tickets

In Germany the away fans often get 7,000 tickets in huge stadiums. It’s part of the culture. I have no problem with it as long as we can also get bigger allocations. It makes for better atmospheres. But too many English grounds are too small.
