Seat Counters 25/26

Have I got this right

If you have had a supporter number assigned since we moved then this number is valid and enables you to get tickets if and when you qualify

Therefore the £35 is for newbies who have never had a supporter number

If so I wonder how many people don’t realise this and thereby don’t apply for tickets or worse still buy a new number

From memory my wife once joined and got a supporter number about 20 years ago we still have the plastic card I’m sure I used it a few times a couple if seasons back
You need an actual paid membership to buy tickets for a lot of games so just having a supporter number/unpaid membership isn't enough most of the time

A mate of mine spent 2 hours on the phone to City yesterday because he wasn't able to transfer his ticket for tonight to his own daughter. It eventually got sorted but seriously, how many people are able to spare 2 hours of their time for something that should be a simple task? I'm sure many other fans in his position would've just sacked it off after a while, in which case the seat wouldn't have been filled.
Many including me can’t be arsed asking if anyone wants it I have always given mine away to friends
As for trying to do it well you can fuck off not worth the effort

Good idea mate.

I pay around £4k per year in home tickets. I would be satisfied if City would have put the last 50 tickets on sale for Liverpool away, instead of the mysterious disappearing act.

That said, I probably wouldn’t have gone anyway cos I dislike Anfield but it would have been nice to have the choice.
Despite my appalling record at Anfield (which includes missing both 81-82 and 02-03) I'll be there next week
This will be my last visit, but then again, I said the same thing last year and the year before that.

Back on topic, and I've just googled "Legacy Fan" as whilst familiar with this relatively modern term, I wasn't exactly sure how it related specifically to City and football

Whilst my first football memories can be traced to the Kick Off Match and Gerald Sinstadt in the late 60s, there would have been middle aged City Fans at St James' Park in 1968 who had also seen us win the league in 1937 and then suffer relegation the following season.

Weirdly, the gap was no different to us being relegated in 1996 under Alan Ball and somebody predicting that we'd win 18 major trophies (and still find something to complain about) in the next 30 years

Of course, the Eric Brook-Tony Coleman generation will all be dead now, but to paraphrase a certain song, we came to take their place.

The issue now is that the new breed of fan will be less inclined to take our place, and just see the Etihad as purely Saturday afternoon entertainment whilst feeling less enthusiasm for lunchtime or midweek kick offs.

This is where the club needs to be flexible and proactive so that the new fans are welcomed without upsetting the traditional local fanbase.

Everything has to start somewhere, but transparent communication and easy accessibility to sensibly priced tickets would be a start.

Only awarding points if the ticket is scanned should be a no brainer
scanned by the person who is in possession of the ticket as well. whether that be the season ticket holder or the member who it has been transferred to.

I believe that you are correct?

But you can only use a Supporters Number, as you say, to purchase a ticket for yourself when you qualify on the Ticketing Criteria? I.e. General Sales?? :0(

No doubt the detractors will point to the empty seats rather than recognising that 48,000 seats sold would more than sell out Villa Park, Stamford Bridge etc.
52,500 - 7,000 doesn’t equal 48,000 mate.

We’ve sold about 45,000 it looks like.

Not as bad as first feared but still would be better with better ticketing policies and prices.
