Seat Counters 25/26

the away end will have the usual 2000+ same faces though, all making their 3rd trip there, the reality is thousands just cannot be bothered, Newcastle would have sold 7800 at The Etihad in the same circumstances, i think we just have to be honest. We sold 9000 for spurs away on a friday night a couple of years ago and the branch i am privvy too took 30+ members to that game, for newcastle not one person has applied out of 60 members.
Yep...
As soon as criteria drops below ST holders with approx 10k then the sales for any pain in the arse games drops off a cliff.

the club could stimulate sales by adding incentives but they seem oblivious or don't care, i would give loyalty points for any game that didn't sell out and games that need a boost in sales.
How about if you go to a FA/League cup away game , you get an entry in a ballot to go to a premier league away game .

I was a home and away in the 80s/90s.
Loved away trips and was contemplating Newcastle.
But 8pm on a Saturday doesn't just mean the Saturday is a write off but Sunday too.
Wembley 2 weeks later. A CL last 16 tie to pay for; it becomes a VERY expensive few weeks.
Yep. Regardless of those parroting on about 8pm on a Sat night in Newcastle being a great ko time, it's just isn't for the majority.

who cares how many we take to Newcastle for 5th round fa cup game. 3rd trip there this season some people just have other priorities and have decided against it. go if you want, or don't go if you want. it's everyone's own personal choice and i think taking over 4k up there for a Saturday 8pm is still good going. yes other 'big clubs' would take more but seriously who the fuck cares? have they played as many games as us over the last few years or got another Wembley trip to pay for only a couple of weeks later? no. if people moan about not getting to away games and choose not to do this game then that's on them but ultimately it's their own choice and they don't have to provide a reason for why they have decided against it.

Ultimately it's a personal choice. Some folk may be well up for it but the ko time is just too inconvenient. The FA Cup game may well be a case in point.
The FA and PL think Manchester and Newcastle are next to each other because they’re both “in the North”.

Just had a look at train times between Newcastle and Manchester (140miles) comparing to a similar journey down south London and Bristol (118miles). On a Saturday the latter has last trains at 10:30pm leaving Bristol and 11:30pm leaving London. For the northern journey the last journeys are 9pm from Newcastle and 9.30pm from Manchester AND it takes an hour longer too. That’s even if they’re running. 8pm Saturday should have been knocked back by the club OR they should lay coaches on.

It's become so clear to me for a while now that match going fans have slipped further and further down the list of priorities. The clubs, PL, FA, broadcasters treat us with contempt. There's some horrendous domestic scheduling throughout the season across the board. Like I said it's personal preference but late ko times at weekends are shite imo.

329 available this morning
278 now so they're still shifting. Let's see what a full day of sales brings today - as long as they don't can it off today, I can see another block opening up. Still think they could go further and make it available to all memberships, both paid and unpaid. I reckon that might see the whole lot gobbled up if given a few more days to sell them

Surely allow people to buy extras too? I'm not sure why they're not doing this

It's a bit like the Carabou cup game. They've left it too late now anyway to open it out. I don't think it will make a difference. Should have had open sale in the original criteria.

In fact it should have just gone straight to open sale from of the off. Remember when they used to do that?

It's only a great kick off time if you don't have any other commitments. Me and my lad are going but only because I've decided that I'll drive so that he can go to his first "proper" away match

Good stuff mate, hope you's have a great time.

Snagged 3 last night! My 14 year old lad is always complaining we can’t get tickets for prem away matches so I had to jump on this opportunity and surprise him.

Three tickets £75 and the hotel was £220 for the night so can understand why it puts people off with more games right around the corner.

Heading up early Saturday morning. I want to watch the England rugby game if anyone has a good boozer recommendation?
