Seat Counters 25/26

But how do they do these checks if the tickets dont have names on them?
They do have the name of the buyer on them, just not on the first "page" of the digital ticket. It might be different on different phones, but on mine, when I click on the three vertical buttons in the top right of the ticket, it takes me to a second page, where my name, age category etc are displayed.

On a wider measure, these sorts of checks are ridiculous and nothing more than a tick-box exercise by the Wembley authorities to show that they are "tackling ticket touts". I'm sure the vast majority of tickets will be in the name of the person holding them, but if we pass it on to a family member or friend, then so what? We are hardly touts, just Blues helping out other Blues. Can you imagine the hassle of, half an hour before kick off, being instructed at the turnstile to find some obscure office at Wembley, after fighting your way through the crowds, just to satisfy some disinterested jobs worths? I would be fuming. But it could happen. And what happens if you don't have ID with you?

And how does this fit with City's new, far more flexible policy, next season of allowing match tickets to be transferred to a far greater number of people? Yet another example of the FA treating us fans with contempt.

They block the ticket on the turnstile reader and you then have to go to the ticket office that is solely for city fans and you have to produce id in the name of the original purchaser and they have a paper ticket waiting for you if your details match.
Its a slim chance it will happen to you but it can and does happen, as I can testify.
This has happened to me too, though I believe the club are required to notify you at least a couple of days in advance, presumably because people don’t always carry ID

I'm gathering from the lack of update, the club are holding out against opening it up to any Cityzen member for now, seems to be still on cup scheme members only.

I wonder if they'll open it right up when they get a few extra back from the FA?

Further criteria being announced this morning

It's due to ticket fraud. Premier League clubs, including City, have been targeted by touts who obtain tickets by creating hundreds of fake memberships.

This morning's seat count, prior to the members' windows opening:

Upper tier 1033
Middle tier 786
Lower tier 21

Total 1840.

Since yesterday's 4pm window approximately 1900 tickets were sold to season ticket holders with less than 5000 points. One for the stattos: the queue reached over 11,000 so we are getting a less than 1 in 5 queue to purchase ratio.

PResumably these will be sold to members but as always the Club Wembley middle tier will be last to go and will probably give an opportunity for most people who want to go to get a ticket, albeit at £285. No new criteria have been annouced and it looks like there is still a good chance of some FA returns which will be in all price brackets. They could well be waiting on that news today before announcing sales criteria.
