semi final tkts??

New fans or not, i pay for my season ticket and that seat. I have sat their for years, if it comes to a cup game i should have the first option to sit in that seat. Why should anyone have priority over me or any other seasonticket holder in that situation.

Feel like I'm being devil's advocate here, but what they hey...

Why should anyone have priority? Because some ST holders have "opted out" of the Carling Cup same way they opted out of many of the European ties last year. Next year when we could do well in three cups they might be opting out of nearly half a season worth of games.

There are plenty of people who will have gone to these cup games and generated the atmosphere that helped our players win. The people who turned up may have made this a competition that is viable. If everyone only turned up for the glamour ties and semis then there might not be any semi to turn up to.

I think the loyalty point scheme is fair.

Of course season ticket holders should get first dibs.

Ridiculous to expect anything else.

My thoughts exactly. Cant believe people are even debating it.....

I started this little debate with the o/p & am amazed how it has turned into a major debate on seasoncards & citycards.
i have a citycard myself along with my partner & have supported mcfc for the past 40+ years & had a seasoncard/ticket up to 3 years ago when i was made redundant, but we are hoping to get seasoncards nxt year.
I totally agree that seasoncard holders should get 1st refusal on the semi-final tkts then down to citycard holdersbut i still have 1 question to ask.....

WOULD EVERYBODY STILL BE GOING ON LIKE THIS IF WE HAD NOT DRAWN THE RAGS IN THE SEMI????

Alternatively you can lobby MCFC, and attempt to get rules / benefits ammended, although i suspect over 30, 000 people would not agree with such attempts.

I'll think about that - a cup direct scheme open to all (even kids/access card members). The club like guarantees and there may not be huge numbers who would sign up, but it would make things a little fairer, and encourage new fans.

The disappointing thing for me is that for the last few C/Cup games I've been surrounded by plenty of kids, many of whom were genuinely thrilled and who were often generating much more atmosphere than the adults. Many would have got excited by the draw for the Semi and were a bit surprised when their parents told them they probably can't go.

I can't wait to be watching the game surrounded by all those grumpy S/T holders moaning that they "don't get out of bed for Scunthorpe".

As for those 30,000 waiting to disagree - many of them were at the early C/Cup matches so will probably feel quite smug if you don't get a ticket ;)

i dont see why the club dont open the cup direct up to city card holder

lets say

36k season card holders
6k away fans
1k security

that leaves 5k tickets that could go to city card holders that want to join the cup direct on a points basis the way tickets are sold for away game's with cut off dates
