Genuine question

If a long standing, long attending, (but not every match), multi loyalty pointed City Card holder, foresaw this problem, (and to be honest if you attend most games the costs would be similar,)and purchased a first seasoncard would they retain their points, or re- start?

I would guess they would retain their loyalty points and are transferred onto there new seasoncard. To be honest I am kicking myself for not getting one this year. I paid out for away trips to Middjtland, Hamburg, Schalke and Barcelona ignoring the fact job wise people in my industry were feeling the pinch. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but I should probably of reined in the spending a little....That is what City does to you though.

I understand the point - but I am not sure it's so straightforward. Plenty of season ticket holders probably find it difficult to make midweek games. However many people, like myself, find it easier to attend the midweek games and a season ticket can't really be justified if I can't get to lots of weekends.

The big four currently play up to 30 home games a season. Many of our season ticket holders will miss a few and end up seeing only half that number of games but we still want the stadium full as much as possible. Getting people to attend C/Cup matches, early European matches is a task for the club. They've cut prices, had kids for a quid etc, and still had many thousands of empty seats for the games. All this talk about expanding the stadium is long term - in the short term we'll probably have an expanded season, and I can't see how anyone can be 100% confident of their loyalty when they only do cup matches with final in the title.

The club might also consider that the initiatives have probably drawn in plenty of new fans who will be a little surprised to find that they were only keeping the seats warm for the "real fans". We should be in Europe next season - with another C/Cup run the non glamorous midweek games could be close to double figures. It's quite possible "cup fans" who attend occasional league matches will be matching many season ticket holders for attendance. If the club want that "full house" atmosphere then they'll need to encourage more ST holders to come to cup games AND they'll need plenty of new fans who are not being treated as second class citizens.

As I mentioned, this feels more emotive to many fans because it's a long time since we've been to a semi. Soon there will be plenty more big games and you'll maybe feel a little more charitable.

I'm a seasoncard holder who has missed only one game since returning from holiday in August
i'm also in the cup scheme and been to all the cc games
however i do believe that the fans that have turned up for the cc games, maybe some of them new to the club should be getting tickets before those that don't go to cup games.
i've heard some say its because they are mid week, but they make it for mid-week league matches, and isn't the semi going to be mid week?
the fans who have been to all the cc games will be embittered if the seasoncard holders take their places.

just trying to see a fair way through it
there were about 24k at the fulham game so there would still be 18k spare to fight over

In fairness you can see both sides of the argument and I wouldn't personally wish to make the decision as either side has a valid point. Anyone who sat through the Fulham game deserves a free final ticket also. I was dreading the thought of extra time

All the panic about tickets for this game is silly. It's midweek and live on terrestrial TV . If you have a Citycard, you will get a ticket. It's very likely that some tickets will also go on general sale -as with Chelsea as late as Saturday morning.

If City dont discount the tickets for certain groups, then I doubt it will sell out. Nothing to do with my views on the match, club, the competition or the manager. It's just midweek, straight after Christmas and it's on the tele.
