semi final trouble

There may be the odd girlie scuffle between those who really want to have a slap at each other but the policing will be so tight that there won't be room to throw a punch.

Wake up and smell the coffee - this is an event that will draw international interest and there's no way that the government will allow it to kick off in the run up to the olympics.

Expect cars and coaches to be separated and escorted in under heavy guard, expect motorway service areas to be segregated, expect coaches to be stopped and searched for drink, drugs, fireworks and weapons . . expect a tediously over-policed day but get real and don't expect trouble.

If you want to see trouble then you'd best watch the game in a local boozer because even Manchester town centre will be mobbed by coppers.

Mmm talking to a few mates it seems obvious it could go off big time.

Picadilly good chance outside and in very difficult to keep fans separated not designed for it. Same euston. Same tube. Same met. Service stations. London pubs , Manchester pubs. Liverpool are playing arsenal on the Sunday. If by some miracle we beat kiev the police nightmare comes true, it will have to be on sunday all day drinking Liverpool fans the London marathoN. The police are getting their excuses in already.

Trains could be a death trap IMO. Driving down will take fucking hours both ways.

Thinking of making a weekend of it personally stay down in london.

anyone who goes looking for trouble is a disgrace to the club!

first trip to wembley for the fa cup in 30 yrs or so and anyone involved in trouble will mar the whole occasion.

Trouble is easily avoided with common sense

Just go and enjoy it whatever the result!

I know it's not correct on here or accepted on here but I will say the following:

city fans will cause the most problems by far!!

Hear me out!

I ve been all over watching city! I've seen city on city fighting at away games many times! I was in a pub in Pompey after we got mullered 4-1 and some of pompeys " lads " came in going mad saying city jumped them outside the ground! All citys " mob " were in that pub drinking with Pompey lads! They got jumped by some rum rough lads from m/ cr who support city! There are loads of lads at city like this! Rough rum and love a fight.

They have no links with hooliganism. I was at crystal palace and saw 8 lads kick it off with palace fans, never seem them before in my life.

I ve sat in the home end at ot and seen their fans close up! They are not drunken headcases like they are at city!

This is city s big day to wembley, the first for years against their nemesis! Everyone will be out! Mark my words city will be worse than yoonited!

yeh alright

lol, jesus christ,i hope you've got your inflatable ready for tonight

30 odd pages of bullshit. Why dont you all just calm down, talk about the match, how to get there, how to get tickets and what sodding inflatable your taking.

Liverpool V United at Wembley was similar and the world didnt end.

Just go with the right attitude and enjoy yourselves.

This above, Christ Almighty, there will be a number of growlers from both sides knocking about, but I hazard a guess, unless you are extremely unlucky if you don't want it, you won't get it. The biggest flash point for trouble will be in the pubs round Kilburn and Willesden. I live round here, i've seen Spurs v CFC, United on dozens of occasions, PFC v Cardiff, WBA v Derby, Millwall, Everton et al. I have hardly ever seen any trouble, some Fat 40 plusers at one CFC v scum game, and one random attack at the same fixture by some CFC young uns. The plod have dozens at the flashpoint stations, and others outside the boozers. One year i'm sure they had portsmouth in West Hampstead and Cardiff in Kilburn.

Get a ticket, get on it, breathe deeply and let's enjoy the day out.

Marco, thinking about it logically it's highly likely to be the same bloke who's in charge of policing in the rest of Manchester.
I don't know why you ask in particular but I guess it's because you have a niggling concern that M15 will be consumed by riots . . . No worries fella, there'll be the odd scuffle between pissed up dickhead kids who'll be trying to make a fantasy of football war come true but they're in the -1% bracket and the other 99%+ in M15 will enjoy the game on the telly and have a bit of good old fashioned banter with the opposition fans.

You sound a bit concerned so I must reassure you that there'll be less chance of trouble of any magnitude at the game itself. If I were you I'd try to get a ticket for the game 'cos Wembley and surrounding area will be the safest place on planet earth on the day as the dibble will have it nailed.
If you can't get a ticket then just stay clear of youth clubs in your area on the day.

Just to give you some perspective; difficult 'grudge' fixtures are held in the capital every year and I can't remember a serious incident . . . Added thought is that there'll be uber-policing for this one what with the Olympics in the horizon so don't panic, your worries are all in the mind.

I live in London, the police will have it sorted. Went to the student protests and that's the only time I've seen what the police can do. They corralled 50,000 odd people and kept it largely violence free until they started kettling everyone.

Don't worry, don't start anything, and you'll be fine. Derby games in Manchester will get more trouble, I assure you.
