Semi or the Final...

I fully accept that pal, but I'm still struggling to understand what these 'kinds' of blues are. Too much of a lazy, throwaway comment for me.

Some blues are more bothered about getting one over on Man United than what's really important: the success of Manchester City.

Just a majority most likely have different visions and have different personalities. It doesn't mean one is better then the other, it just means they are a different style of fan.

OK. Fair enough :-)

:) I thought this was gonna go on all night blue

I can't post new topic so if anyone can move this post

Just booked the train for Charity Shield and got 1st class with Vigin Trains (on their website) for £54 return. The 1st class is a special price they have on at the moment and is cheaper than the standard.

Thought I'd let you know before the reds find out and start booking them. If we get it booked up quick we'll ahve a train full of blues and no reds.

ps I'm on 8.20 out on the Sunday and back on 21.25 on the Sunday, be nice to get these trains filled 1st and gives plenty of time for drinking in London.

The final. We can beat united any old season in the league, but we won't get a high profile trophy because of it. It sounds like to some, beating united meant more than winning the cup itself and I can't agree with that. When that Yaya goal went in against Stoke it meant a million times more than the one v United, because it meant we were on the verge of ending 35 years without a trophy, in a final watched world wide by billions of people. The United match was history at that point.
What we need now is to play United in a final itself, or even better, go to OT this coming season needing a win to secure the league. Now that would mean more than both the semi and FA cup final wins put together!

Couldn't of put it better myself.

Strange debate this. People would taking beat manure over winning the FA Cup?

FINAL

But we didn't beat utd in a run of the mill league game. We absolutelt twatted them, at wembley, in front of millions and knocked them out of the cup.
This 35 years thing was only ever a stick that utd used to beat us with. No other fans cared, just them.
I'd say the main reason a lot of Blues wanted to win summat was to shut them plastic fuckers up

that is nonsense you have taken that tested line about hating rags more than loving City

you have failed to take into account that the rags have been the most sucessful side in years and if we intend to be the best we have to beat the best not just in any old league derby but a game both sides were desperate to win and not just for local pride

people on this site seem to reel off glib comments as if they were gospel and if you have a different point of view you must be wrong !

not having a go as such but pointing out I went for the semi but not for the reasons you seem to allude to
imho

Final (but only just).

Semi was fantastic - went with mate; shedload of beer in Green Man, all the tension of a derby x100, under the cosh for 15 minutes and a sense of doom followed by a gradual turning of the tide and, for once, a feeling they wouldn't get a last minute goal - absolute elation at the end

Difficult to beat and of course the final didn't have the derby edge and tension but winning it was the bigger result and more important plus the semi would have counted for nothing had we not won. Went with my Dad and lad and was welling up when I said to my lad before Tevez lifted the Cup "watch this mate City haven't done this since 23 years before you were born".

Ya ya ya yayaya Toure!!!!!!!!!!!!

How long does the train to London/Wembley take? Is that enough time to get there in time for kick-off because isn't it being moved to 12 o clock kick off? I've heard that off several people in the last few days and 3 hours 40 minutes seems to push it.

Our 35 years without a trpphy didn't end when we beat the scum in the semi.

It ended when we beat Stoke in the Final.

If we hadn't have won the Final, then this petty 35 year thing would be rolling on for another year, and the semi-final deemed pretty much irrelevant.

the semi...............was at both. the semi was fucking torture but the relief at the final wihistle made me cry. i enjoyed the final (as a game) a lot more, because i couldnt see us losing, it was just a matter of time after the semi final result. almost a fucking weird anti-climax (at the risk of sounding a little arrogant!)but lifting that cup was just meant to be...
