Senior Figures at City Are Saying...

For me it is not just the fantastic job that Gary Cook has done in restructuring the club but also the positive impact on jobs created at the club with regards to young people building careers there. Add to that the incredible service the club now does in communities not only in Manchester but throughout the World, us blues should be very proud. It is not reported so much in the press but everyone loves to dwell on the slightly negative things that the pess blow up into a major issue.
People may not like his no nonscense approach but that is because he will not be walked all over in deals and when the likes of players agents find they are not getting what they want then they go out and spread negative sentiment about the executive team at our club. I hope this whole incident galvanizes the club from the team to the fans and gets the fans to back the great work of Cook and his team and our manager Mancini.
Proud to be blue!

At this point, reasons are virtually irrelevant to me.

FACT: City have bent over backwards to both make him "welcome" and provide him ALL the financial and emotional support ANY club in the world COULD have given him.

FACT: His family issues are COMPLETELY of his own making, NOT City's.

FACT: As Club Captain, he has a responsibility to BOTH learn some decent English and NOT react like a spoiled brat when the BOSS acts like a BOSS and makes a tactical change WHENEVER HE WANTS.

FACT: He is the highest paid player at the club and has been treated like a King by the supporters, most of whom DREAM about making his season's pay in an entire lifetime.

FACT: If his problems are with the EXECUTIVES at City, then he needs to STFU, play the football he is being paid to play and HONOR the MASSIVE contract his buddy, Kia, agreed he should sign.

He stays until someone pays us what a player who scores in the EPL once very 1.6 games SHOULD BE WORTH. Maybe Kia should buy out his contract AGAIN from the £60M HE has made from Tevez in the last few years?!!

I have cheered, sung and clapped along with everyone else at every step. However, players come and players go (at City more than most places!) and, while Tevez had the chance to be among the pantheon who gave their best years to this club for a small fraction of what he gets for it today, THIS action will NEVER allow him to get there for me.

I'm grateful for the strike rate. I'm grateful for the chance of success he has helped create for the club this season. However, beyond that, he is just another of the replaceable faces who have worn a sky blue shirt over the 40 years I have been following the club. Good luck to him, but BETTER luck to CIty. THEY are who I support, not the individual players for whom I may have an affinity.

Good post.

Quotes from a guardian report:

Senior figures at City were last night privately suggesting that Tévez’s statement, released just after 8.20pm, was merely an attempt by the player’s representative, Kia Joorabchian, to drive a wedge between the club’s Abu Dhabi owners and chief executive Cook and football administrator Marwood.

So is he trying to fuck up our club or is he just after more money??

Either way Joorabchia is a parasitic worm of a man

Our board and owner stand firm in the face of his ineffective attempt at bullying

Well said!

Tevez has been an incredible player for us, probably the best player we've had for 30 years. But he's clearly not a very intelligent man, and he would probably admit that himself.

His career has been dictated to him by Kia Jorabchin since he was a kid. He has been much more than an agent to him, by the sounds of it he's essentially been acting as a personal manager / mentor for most of his adult life.

Garry Cook has fallen out with KJ and said City will not deal with him again and he has been banned from the club.

Tevez cannot speak English and has had very little contact with Cook since he came to the club.

Tevez (or KJ) has released a statement saying KJ has done nothing wrong and the reason Tevez wants to leave is because Tevez has fallen out with Garry Cook.

It doesn't take a genius to work out the truth.

Tevez has not bad mouthed the fans, the manager or the club. Any fan that is planning to boo him and demand he never plays for us again maybe needs to have a think about their reasons for doing so.

Do you think Tevez might have wondered why KJ was telling him to slap in a transfer request. Possibly he had to explain it? Maybe they even discussed it at length?

Kia is obviously being manipulative but Tevez knows what is going on and why. The transfer request was his. He's no innocent victim in this. They're in it together.

If Garry Cook left, would anyone be sad?

Some blues have indicated it might be a silver lining.

I'd be very upset to lose Garry Cook and indeed Marwood. Ignore the muppet level press reports and misquoted soundbites in the media and look at what business we've actually done. Cook has made significant strides in establishing the foundations of a world class organization. The level of professionalism of the club has improved dramatically, and we are carefully building community roots around the world. Any of us who have actually spent time with them know their intelligence, vision, and passion for this club. We are far stronger with them at the helm.

no sorry mate doesn't wash i'm afraid he's paid in excess of 200k in week to play football for man city not get involved with anybody higher than mancini he might not have bad mouthed the fans but believe me the fans are bad mouthing him, as far as i can see good player that he is he's finished at this club now.

The bird is the word ?

Tbh, the more I hear about how much Tevez is on the more it makes me feel a bit sick, a week of his earnings would probably set most of us up for life would it not ? I understand the supply and demand part but still, if he is asking for more then, well he can fook off for me whether he stays or goes, a deliberately nicely timed spanner in the works imo and the parties involved knew exactly what they were doing, the club have my full support on this and I hope they stick by their guns.
