Sergio Aguero - 2017/18 performances

A great striker scores one goal from 3-4 good chances, but scores 2 out of 3 in great games. Like Aguero. Remember Bayern?! He did it himself. This makes him great. He is there, always has been, always will be when we realy need him.

He just needs some time he’ll get it back. This struggling with clinical finishing has only been for a few months. What a servant he’s been for the club we can give him a bit of a break can’t we?

I was critical of Sergio for the other night against Watford, but only three games back he was ferociously clinical against Bournemouth. And his flick to Sterling for the latter’s goal was, well, De Bruynesque. He’s still got it. He’s just not the machine he was, prducing it virtually every single game. But the team is not the same as in 2011-12, or in 2013-14, and they’re not being asked to play the same kind of football. Neither is Sergio. I think some of us are in danger of underestimating that.
I would be heartbroken to see him go. I mean that. Among many other things, Sergio is 93:20. Nobody here is unaware of that. But the club is bigger than everything. And the club has seen fit to appoint a man who has a certain vision of the game, and who will apply it with neither fear nor favour.

Agree with all the comments above. The team no longer relies on having to thread the ball through to Sergio by Silva ala to the extent that the mancini and pellegrini era did.

We now have so much movement up across the front line that it can (and i too have done this) to be a little more critical of Sergio. Not in a negative way but asking for more movement etc. The way we attack now can make it look like sergio is not fitting in as well as we had hoped with Peps system.

The game against Watford i was crying out for him to score (along with my son who was hoping the same) and you know what he did.

There will be occassions where he doesnt look like it is working, but then there are the other occassions where it does, he picks up the ball and runs in that messi like manner and you just break out into the sergio chant

I have no issues with missing chances . Happens every top striker . Its the link up play and wrong pass selection that sticks out like a sore thumb in this current team . Most of the time a move breaks down when it is played to him . Everyone else seems to have improved while Sergio seems to have regressed

I see it often with him, I don't mind the link up play as much because unfortunately at times all he does is pass back to where the ball came from but at times not making a pass at all with him drives me nuts
