Took a bit of stick last week on here , and a few writing him off , still think he is carrying an injury but he was back to his lethal best today , Pep will sign another centre forward in the summer but there is plenty of life left in Sergio judging by todays performance and Jesus will only get better playing alongside a world class finisher and learning from one of the best Premier league strikers of all time.

That was exactly what I clicked on here to comment. word for word. It was that kind of performance, he was just there, in a very reliable way when we needed chances finished.

I thought he was excellent particularly before the first goal today. We really ramped up the pressure for a good half an hour and he was occupying 3 defenders while also taking part in the moves and helping to break them down, which we did a bunch of times without the goal quite happening. Sergio getting awarded that first goal felt like just reward for that part of the performance, and hopefully he can keep playing like that.

I think he could have got another fiver if he'd had a little more luck.
