Sergio Aguero leaves City after 10 years

He did and he told us in May, yet when our Laporte got injured 4 months later in September, our season effectively ended, and we were playing a past his best Otamendi and and out of position Dinho for the biggest games after wed chosen not to replace him.
What I mean is we had 4 months to sort that out and we didnt until 12 months later when we got Dias, weve had arguably longer to plan for Sergio and the season has already started.

BTW...Im not saying we should throw money at Kane for the hell of it - I am actually torn on it - I just think we should have been better prepared.
Fair point if he had informed us, didn't know that.

Sad for Sergio and worry how Barcelona fans will treat him after Messi has left. Would love to draw Barce in the chumps league so that we more time.

City got it right with the timing of the departure of Sergio. If they had moved him on a year earlier it would have been disrespectful given his contribution to City. Keeping him for another year would certainly have not worked for City.

And that is why, despite most of us on here (including me) dreaming of the remote possibility of him returning, it just ain't gonna happen. He's too fragile for the physical demands of a PL season. Remember him for the legend that he is. The guy was "different gravy".

The great managers invariably know exactly when it’s the right moment for that difficult conversation with a legend to tell them it’s time to move on or retire. Pep was spot on with the timing on this one.

Even though most of us knew he wouldn’t play many games as he was now at the end of his career I am gutted for Sergio

First he wanted to play football with his good mate who fucks off to the farmers league

Then he is sidelined for at least two months when he will be trying his hardest to impress his new club

Wish him the best he can make of this move

he carnt join yet as they [ Barca ] still have to get 100 mi off wages

Dizziness is setting in

Feel for sergio so much , wanted him to stay fit
It was always going to be a long shot, given his last 2-3 seasons with us. I'd like to see him retire now, rather than watch him struggling along, going from one injury to another. He doesn't deserve to finish his career like that. Remember him for what he was, not what he is now.

If I was him and if I wanted to eventually go home I would mutually terminate the contract and go to Independiente. Play on a less demanding scalle.

Aguero is my all time favourite player and I feel desperately sorry for him. His career seems to be fizzling out and he does not deserve that at all.

If I put my ruthless head on, I think the club did the right thing. I'd loved to have kept him on, but - as ever - the club show unerring judgement on players. We could no longer rely on him to be fit. As good as he is, he can't play when he is injured which is most of the time now.

I hope he can play for a decent chunk of the season, but he needs to think about what his body is saying to him. I hope when he does retire, it's at the top and not after another injury ravaged season.

His body is done. I know people weren't happy about him leaving but he would have spent most of the year on the treatment table. Not sure where his career goes after his stint at Barca as I doubt many would want him. Maybe back to Argentina?
I believe he was quoted as saying he wanted, at some time, to play for independiente again, his original club

It was.

I recall the thread on here blues were flapping about him saying it to an Argentine radio station after he signed a contract extension.
