Sergio Aguero leaves City after 10 years

Of course it's enormously sad to lose Sergio. What a magnificent player, icon and warrior for 10 years. But remember VK had a good offer from Anderlecht even though City wanted him to stay. It may be that being a bit part player next year on reduced wages wasn't something he wanted as I can't imagine him being offered a 2 year contract.
The vultures are always circling and we need to upgrade to stay on top. If Haaland is there for us then we are talking about guaranteed goals for the next few years. Or even Kane.
The big downside is there won't be 50,000 fans saying thank you and goodbye. But let's celebrate and be thankful for the last 10 years and look forward to the next 10.
If we lose sergio for kane my head will explode

That is because you are, and always have been, overly emotional with City football players and especially Aguero.

I used it to be the same until I met them in a social setting. They’re just people with jobs. Aguero wanted to stay longer for several reasons, he’s settled, he likes the money at City, he likes the club and we are the best ticket to trophies available to him. City didn’t want to offer him a longer term contract and didn’t want to pay him what he’s currently on (which is what he was offered when banging in 30 goals a season at his peak). Aguero didn’t want the offer on the table, he chose not to take it. No one hates anyone else.

Don’t take the whole thing quite so personally. Stop trying to apportion blame. Pep cares about literally one thing, winning matches. If Aguero was doing anything in training to suggest he deserved more minutes on the pitch, then he would be playing more.

Do yourself a favour and unwatch the thread for a few days until you’re less emotionally raw about the situation.
Pretty much my thoughts, I felt the same way about Franny when he left as a player, it's hard to come to terms with a hero like Sergio leaving but I'm comfortable that the Club and player in this case will part company in the right way, I trust both :)

I cant help the way i am , i adore the legends , that is just me , this feels like a mucky kind of end to me , the fact he doesnt want to leave really is killing me
We all get that.... But this is the perfect example of "The King is dead... Long live the King"

We have to accept it and move on... or it will kill us

Madness the amount of people happy that he’s leaving. As Kaz has said, we’ve seen interviews saying he gets to choose when and how he leaves. That doesn’t appear to be the case. I have said this many times but that man gave me the best day of my life, it’s shoddy how he’s been forced out.

I'd say that "happy" is totally the wrong word... We've seen how the club behave in recent years and putting who we're talking about to one side for a second, the club are dealing with this in black and white as a business proposition...

If Sergio turned down what the club believed he was worth (decent money anyway I'd guarantee / wager) then he had a choice to make.... If he turned it down then I'm not sure how that can be interpretted to be the club's fault?

"Shoddy " sorry Big p I actually think this has been handled very well .....maybe I'm wrong but it certainly isn't shoddy

Adore them by all means Kaz. I don’t know Kun, I’ve never met him, but by all accounts by those I do know, he’s a top bloke, which isn’t something universally said about some players I loved at City.

It’s possible to be sad that he’s leaving (I’m terribly sad due to what he meant to me and the time at City he represents) and not take that out on the current management. They have to see through the sentiment, they have to look forward to the next 2-5 years. To the next batch of players that will win the next batch of trophies. To players that will mean as much to some fans in the future, that Aguero means to you, and me, and 99% of people on this forum. It’s literally their (very well paid) job to do that and to make these decisions and they’ll live and die by them. But it’s not personal.
