Sergio Aguero

A funny chat with the press:

Best 3 players in world football:

1. Lionel Messi (Barcelona)
2. Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)
3. Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

Did you ever think you'd see our name associated with such a player? Can't really come to terms with it, but it's true... we have the 3rd best player in the world.

We have to do everything and I mean everything to keep this man at the club. Letting him go will be disastrous.

He's the best player for decades.

Injuries and his unsettled private life stopped him from kicking on from his first season at the club even though 17 goals from 40 appearances is not a bad return. He is definitely on course for having a 'world class' season.

Absolutely. The club will try their hardest in doing that but ultimately it will be down to Sergio to resist the temptation.

In his recent interview, he basically said he likes life here more than Spain, because he can live a quiet life without hassles. The only ? would be his son Benjamin, but AFAIK he isn't in Spain but Argentina, and is over to see Sergio regularly. I think he'll be here for a while yet. Even if Real Madrid offered a world record fee... why? What do we gain by selling him? Can you imagine trying to replace him? I guess Luis Suarez would do a good job in a similar role, but Aguero is the club's modern day icon and you don't casually sell such a player.

They actually love him on Rag Cafe as well

He's brilliant at just about everything. What is his actual weaknesses? He is technically brilliant, has thighs like tree trunks and he is a dwarf that bullies centre halves. He's surely the best player they have ever had in their history.

Fair dos. He gets rave reviews even on there.
I also like their bile ridden comments about us. Our rise to prominence still really stings.

Some pretty good and balanced comments on that thread actually. This one in particular:

"Incredible. I think he's better than Suárez at the moment. He plays very well against the big teams, whereas Suárez more of a 'flat-track bully'. "

If I'm being honest I probably can't see him staying more than 4-5 seasons, even though we'd do our absolute darndest to make him stay.

Part of me still feels that he does have that underlying desire to one day play for Barca or Madrid, which is fine. No one is irreplaceable and he would've set our club up massively for the future.

I'm just grateful at the moment that we have such a player wearing at City shirt. It's a privilege watching him play.
