Sergio's Injury

The Barcelona game looks a lot less exciting all of a sudden, huge miss in my opinion as he is our fear factor up front.

I just hope Jovetic can keep fit because if can't then I think we are going to struggle in January, Silva for me will have to start playing more like a striker and focus on getting goals as well as assists.

Even the worst case scenario doesn't necessarily rule him out of the Barca game which is 2 months and 1 day away.

There is as much chance of him being out for 4 weeks as 8 weeks.

Personally, I think Pellegrini was covering his bases. Aguero is on a bike already.

Out for between a month and EIGHT weeks, confirmed by Pellegrini to James Ducker (The times).

First game back might not be until the Barca tie.

The point is, tbh, that no-one knows how long he'll be out. Sick of saying this, and not having a go at you, but every person and every injury can have different recovery times, it just depends how well it responds to treatment. Hence why MP says 4-8 weeks. We'll know more in about 2 weeks when his rehab is well underway.

Even if it is the worse case scenario,we can cope without him as our midfield is immense;)

Zaba is a worse blow but hopefully we'll get positive news on his situation tomorrow.

I think it's 9 weeks until the Barcelona game, but still, you would like to see him go into that game with some form.

It's Jovetic's injury record that worries me, we can't play Negredo and Dzeko together so it would mean going with just one forward or playing Silva as a striker.

no , it would mean Silva playing in no.10 role, some people seem to think we must play with two strikers every game.

I agree in that Silva had an excellent game in that role against Bayern so there shouldn't be any real panic imo, if Sergio isn't fit for the Barcelona game.
