That canal is like a Dickens novel boiled down into its essence - and Ancoats is even darker - and downright frightening - further up the canal. There is a Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes episode showing the murderous stretch of canal tunnel in one scene where men have a fight and one falls in a canal.They're both from the same poster. He also posts about the canal st/Ancoats section of the canal being a well known "cruising" spot. Ive mentioned in a thread in the past about the time i walked home down that way pissed with my mate.... Bumped into some "cruisers" down there and after telling them we were straight ended up chatting .. One of them actually stopped talking to me, saying "excuse me a sec," while he unbuttoned a fellas pants and started sucking him off. I also saw a man getting bummed up against the wall. The best bit was that one of the guys, must of been about 40, didnt realise you could also get aids by "giving" and not just "receiving", his face was a picture. All in all, a very very weird walk home
You don't 'get aids' you catch hiv. And just to stop any scaremongering, the majority of new people with hiv are hetrosexual.
Back on topic, does seem a very strange walk home, but at least you now know that you won't 'get aids'

And use of the term "the best bit" makes you sound excited about it.

To be honest, even if i was running late for my own kid christening i would of stopped for a look. Bumming and blowies in the open air is not something you see every day, id recommend it to anyone who wants to spice up the long walk home

Happening far too often, there must be something in this, not necessarily a serial killer though could be some gang initiation instead. Police need to be all over this.
