Move along here, nothing to see, don't you dare insinuate that our boys (and girls) in blue would ever cover anything up.

Said St Helens Blue.
As I said previously..along with the detectives..the crime scene examiners...the home office pathologists....fuck me..some people really need to realise that people die all the time in canals.Sam..I never said the police haven't covered anything up but it is seriously hilarious to think some believe a serial killer is on the loose stalking the canal paths etc..show me one bit..just one bit of physical evidence and we can talk about it.
15 deaths in 2 years.

It's too many too ignore. The least you'd expect is some kind of police outreach program to promote personal safety, targeted at bars, clubs and the universities. That GMP seem to be doing nothing is remarkable in itself.

15 deaths in two years is a huge amount for one stretch of canal.

it's either a very dangerous area or there is a murderer.

hopefully the former!!

If it is people falling in, then still, there needs to be something done about it. If there were 15 deaths on one road in the space of 2 years the council would have done all sorts of calming measures.

Granted it isnt one road its a network of canals and rivers too, but surely waist high fencing cant be that expensive especially given the rate at which people dying here.

And therein lies the point. Its the councils job to make it safer. Why would the police have responsibility for that? Its not for the law to tell people not to get drunk or depressed or go to quiet places by water when they are one or the othr or often both.

112 deaths 2010 & 2011 (can't find newer figures) on the roads in the whole of greater manchester over a two year period.

Now when you consider how many thousands of miles of roads there and the tens millions of users over that same time, it beggars belief that more isn't been done to warn the publi of the dangers of being a male walking home near water on he way back from town (due to the serial killer).

Is there any more on the naked man running around the Northern Quarter recently? He was discovered dead on a building site.

What were the river/canal related death figures for the two years previously to 2010?
