Serial Killer at large in Manchester?

Reigniting this thread, there have been a relatively large amount of canal deaths since then, in and around Manchester. It amazes me how many people can apparently drown in a max of 5ft of water, usually much less. Putting aside sinister explanations, I can only assume most of the poor people are wasted on drink and/or drugs.

Nah...it was The Pusher. Must have been from Poland or something because since Brexit, it's stopped.
What has Brexit done for us? Kept us out of the canal.

It's falling into the water and hitting your head on something or getting trapped on something, then the shock cold water and panic sets in, Also, it may be only 5ft at the side, but in the middle it's deeper

But being drunk or drugged up is the real problem ? walking on the canals

Most "normal" uk canals are less than 4ft in the middle, obviously there are exceptions round locks, weirs ect, but if as Lavinda says you can go down/drown in a cupful of water then it must be a lot easyer to go down/drown in a canal?

Smashed and walking around the city centre that had numerous canals in the dark is the answer

The 2 canals running through Ancoats the Ashton/Rochdale canals, are more than 4ft deep in the middle, i would say more like 6ft to 8ft and even deeper in places

Another body being recovered in Broadheath, Altrincham today.

Sure I read there was one in central Manchester last week.

Growing up I don’t ever remember bodies being recovered from waterways like this.

(Pretty sure there was a much bigger thread on the topic of the canal pusher but assuming this got pulled?! This is the only one I could find searching ….)
