Can anyone answer this question (just thinking about it watching the Roma-Milan game). Why do teams in the Serie A generally not press the opponent like they do in England (or Germany or Spain)?

This game is at a far slower pace than games in England usually are. It seems partly because referees call more fouls, but that doesn't explain why they give each other so much time on the ball?

Italian football is more about tactic and less pace i guess.

Roma are currently on 85 points with three games left so could finish on 94 points, you have to feel for them because they are likely to finish on a points total that would have won them a league title in the past ten years bar the odd year here and there.

Title wining points totals in the last ten years:

03-04 - Milan 82 points.
04-05 - Juventus 86 points (stripped of the title though)
05-06 - Inter 76 points
06-07 - Inter 97 points
07-08 - Inter 85 points
08-09 - Inter 84 points
09-10 - Inter 82 points
10-11 - Milan 82 points
11-12 - Juventus 84 points
12-13 - Juventus 87 points

Juventus could end up finishing on 102 points this season.

Big achievement from Rudi Garcia this year though considering they sold a lot of players last summer and finished on 62 points last season.

I am facinated to see how they get on in the Champions League next season and no doubt they will be a pot 4 team, either way no team will want to face them.

There has always been more emphasis on technical ability than out and out stamina in the Italian game. It applies in serie A as much as in the national team.
It's just the way football is played in Italy.
They absolutely love the PL over there because it is so very different to their game.
