While we don't know all the facts, I can say that if one of our supporters has assaulted somebody outside your stadium, that is a poor reflection on that individual and I hope he is brought to law, but all clubs have supporters like this.

I will concede that we are 'one of those clubs' with a particularly rambunctious fan base.

Well thx for the sentiments anyway. I was a near miss too although strangely at my advanced years i didnt panic and just kinda leaned in with my shoulder to the passing mob and apart from shouting nothing really happened. Not great though for people on pensions dealing with this on a day out.
Trying to be fair I suppose its not really your fault if you are the team of choice for delinquents across Yorkshire which i think is the case.. I was once at a city pre season game at Scarborough and there were even Leeds fans there stirring it up.

If that'd been the other way round and a City fan had sucker punched an old man, I'd hope City fans would give him a good kicking.

My thoughts exactly, let’s set a baying mob of inbreds free into City fans of a certain age, no wonder a couple of old fellas have copped for a few this season, fucking cowards, and the policing is no better. Who do they expect to be around at that stage ? The place is full of old school City & families making their way home after clapping their team off, can see a return to the days of mobs waiting about for away fans & picking them off and if the police don’t get their act together

That's the problem. If the police don't sort it the fans take it on themselves to do it. There was plenty around yesterday but a lot sat inside vans. They were quick to run over and arrest a few but by then someone has been attacked.

Back in the 80s my much younger brother was going back into town from Warwick Rd station following a Derby at OT. My brother and his two mates were sussed by some cockney rags who tried to start on them. Some handy manc reds intervened twatted the cockneys and said we don't do kids mob handed and told the cockneys to fuck off. In those days there were rags with honour not sure it would happen now.
