Seriously - 9/12 pts potential difference Us vs Rags??

Yes this may be a bit "knee jerk" but it's worth debating.

Looking at the table IF United win their two games in hand they will be NINE points clear of us & should they beat us that will make it TWELVE.

Seriously everyone is it good enough that considering that United have hardly made any further investment & can't splash out on players & comparing this to our mass expenditure & recruitment that we could find ourselves in that position?.
Surely we should be doing better than this?.

I sadly fear that we could end up 15 points adrift come May & we will be in the same situation as last season, competing with Spurs for 4th.
The team has to start showing more belief & desire in great abundance.

Unbe-fucking-leivable!!!

Whats wrong? one loss and you spout this? This is our best season since i can remember, certainly in my lifetime (im 34) - and we should be doing better???

I dont think any genuine city fan believed we could win the title this year, it was always gonna be challenge for champs league and continue building the team for a title push next season/possibly the season after.
I think offered joint top of the league, games in hand or not at new year, we would have all snatched there hands off - We have exceeded expectations for me tbh, because by being up and actually in the title race for so long, it is giving us the experience which i thought we would have had to try and get next season.

If we finish behind the rags, so be it, the bigger picture shows we are a full season ahead of the expected progress we should have made (unless the expectations are coming from the gutter press or new glory hunting fans)

Our time will come, just keep enjoying the ride!!

Our target is top four and a trophy anything above that is great

Yesterday was just one of those days sometimes you have them, our squad is on paper probably the strongest in the league but you can't beat experience which the rags and Chelsea have in abundance, next season is the one for us let's just enjoy this one and hope for the best

^^

What moomba and deniro just said!!

We have not deserved a defeat all season, just been unlucky (Arsenal home, Sunderland and Villa away). In those games bar the Arsenal one, we were in control, all game. Lacklustre forward play has cost us but we did not deserve too lose those two games!!

Even two of the draws we had at home too Blackburn and Birmingham, were seriously unlucky! We hammered both teams with shots and it was a case of us trying to break down 10 men behind the ball, which I admit we have struggled to do.

I cant understand why some people are worried or at the point of suicide after these results!!

We are playing some of our best football for years and you can see the confidence in the team, sometimes these types of results happpen, I'm more than confident we have a group that will bounce back!

I'm sure the squad and Mancini don't want to settle for second best! Personally, I'm confident of a top three finish this year and so should the rest of us blues!!

newblue - don't fall into the trap of the non blue mass by thinking we should be winning the title cos we spent loads of money. We are dissapointed that we have lost as we now believe we are going to win most games. Can't ever remember feeling like that (except perhaps one of the promotion seasons) so keep the faith and give the team time to fully gel. Losing games grows team spirit and valuable experience as a team.

Yep..after our last defeat (Everton) we went on a good run of games..

I feel we should be doing better than this. Our return on investment is pathetic when you consider the pricetags on some of these

What, do you mean that 3rd in the league, 7 points clear of 5th place, last 32 of the Europa Cup and still in the FA Cup isn't good enough for you NewbBlue? after watching some of the shite delivered over the years, whilst very disappointed with last night, as it's said, if somebody had offered our exact position as of today, wouldn't you take it?

Smile blues - was gutted today but remain positive.

If we beat Brum then that's 3 points from 2 games! - OK result
Better than 2 draws and 2 points!

We have to be realistic - Champions League would be amazing for this season!

Let's not get ahead of ourselves

THIS it doesnt seem to click with people that being unbeaten in two games is worse than winning one losing one!!
