Seriously...what are we doing?

I know that most on here are long term City fans. I know that an awful lot on here were born post 1976 and the greatest thing that we have seen City do is win the First Division.

Today, we went away from home, and battered another team, putting us joint top of the league in December. Added to this, we have the best run coming up, a manager who has won trophies everywhere he has ever been, easily the most singularly talented squad in the Premiership, unlimited funds, a community service that was that good that we made it the front of the 2018 bid and an office team that is the envy of many, with communication to the fans seen as the most important thing.

In my lifetime, this is the greatest period in our history, and we are spending it sniping at each other on the forums. Just for once, for a change, can we not declare a truce and bask in the magnificence that is our club? This club belongs to all of us, and our hearts should be swimming at the moment.

Things are on the up boys and girls. Let's try to celebrate it

Well said, I rarely post in this forum because it's full to the brim with people moaning and one-upmanship. People cutting others down so that when they're proven right they can say "I told you so" and sit on their throne of football forum excellence. What's wrong with just supporting the team and being optimistic? Nobody is saying people can't add a bit of constructive criticism here and there but saying things like "XXXX is rubbish" and "XXXX will always let us down" is just unhelpful sniping, and offers nothing towards the benefit of the team.

Anyway, I wish you luck trying to convince a whole forum to be optimistic and I hope you succeed in getting them to see how far we have come and why they should be happy with the progress we've made.

Unfortunately though, it's analogous to trying to beat off a swarm of wasps with a stick. There's always going to be the ones that keep coming back for more negativity.

Maybe if you, and all those others who think like you, actually did post on here more often, then you could turn the tide on the negativity round.

Maybe, but it's a bit like global warming in that sense, nobody believes they single-handedly make much of a difference ;) the problem is you can have an army of optimists and it only takes one moaning, resentful pessimist to whip up a frenzy.

The emphasis is always on the people who post negative things regardless of how many positive posters there are. I agree though in a sense, maybe I should post in here more often, it might be a lost cause but it can't do any harm.

When some so called fans think that Fred Eyre is a closet red,it really is sad, personally i think we are now in danger of attracting the type of fans the rags
have gained in the last 10yrs.

All my blue mates and me feel like you Damo, and 99% of bluemoon you got to look closer at the people sniping are they really city fans? its easy to pretend on a forum.

Well said. I've been reading this site for over a year without actually joining & it was one of the things that got on my tits, though some of the stuff people wrote made me laugh like fuck. As City fans we sometimes tend to be overly harsh but we must also be the fans with the best sense of humour. I suppose we have to be after all the crap we've had to put up with. CTID!
