Arsenal have never won the CL but they’re a bigger worldwide club than Chelsea.

I’m not saying it won’t make a difference to our stature but I don’t give a fuck about our stature, I don’t care if we’re seen as a big club, I don’t care if the media and other fans have a stick to beat us with. All I care about is my relationship with City.

As I said I really do want to win the CL (is fucking love to win it!) but I don’t want to win it for any other **** around the world. I don’t want us to win it so the media Forest Villa Chelsea United and Liverpool fans have got less to say about us (if anything you’ll only see the negative anti-City anti-Abu Dhabi sportswashing cheating “your titles don’t mean anything” press rocket!), I don’t want to win it so some sad **** in Alabama Adelaide or Addis Ababa starts supporting us, I only want to win it for me and my relationship with City, our long standing fans, the City players and management team, and boardroom.

But don’t dimish what winning three or even four English first division titles in a row would mean. That’s 135 years of history and being up there with the best or indisputably the best.
We’re arguing two different things.

You are talking about what you want to see and I am talking about what the *club* need. I am not diminishing anything. I am just explaining the difference between what we want and what the club want (for justifiable reasons).

I am personally much more in line with your thoughts (I would love to become the most dominant team in English football history), but I know I am not the future of the club, and so my wishes are becoming less and less relevant with each passing season.

And, as much as we may not like it, the club needs the new fans in Alabama, Adelaide, Addis Ababa, *AND* in Manchester and elsewhere in England.

Things have changed. Things continue to change. We have to accept that.

Yes, but it is still a monkey on our back and a stick with which the media, rival supporters, and the football community at large can use to beat both the club and Pep.

We’ve dominated the league — there’s nothing left to prove in England. Whether we win it three times in a row or not will have little impact on how this side is seen from this point forward.

The only thing that will improve the club’s stature is winning the CL.

I am not thrilled about that, but I accept it as the reality.
fair that .

We probably are haha.

My whole point was to say we’ve still got things to prove domestically when you said we haven’t. We haven’t in terms of the teams we’re playing against now, but there’s still aims there in terms of the entire history of the country where football was invented.

Anyway, it’s a CL night, I want us to win it more than I ever have.

Let’s have it mate!
