There are definitely still records to be made. There always will be.

But we’ve entered the realm of diminishing returns. Winning three, or four in a row is not going to significantly improve our global stature. And the club needs that type of improvement to continue growing and capturing fans outside of us FOCs. Even in England, it is needed to capture the fans, as much as that makes many of us uncomfortable.

We can’t both demand continued dominance and reject the means with which that dominance can be continued.

I know we all want to be able to be the best club in the world for generations to come by being a solely local club, but it just doesn’t work that way. It hasn’t for quite some time.

The reality is the club need the team to win the CL.

That is what we’ll take us to the very top echelon, whether we like it or not.

Ferdinand has got his #8 upside down and it’s really annoying me
 
Midfield looks interesting, there can’t be too many games where Foden, KDB, Bernando and Grealish have all started. Not sure why Alvarez didn’t play at the weekend if he’s not starting here. Two new signings together in the back four is also an interesting decision.
 
I would rather watch Peps teams playing the way we do than suffer the football played by Tuchel and Mourinihos teams. Even if it means we don’t win the Champs League during his time with us.

Just think if it wasn’t for the dippers we’d have 5 in 5 now! Unfortunately Pep will be judged rightly or wrongly on winning the champions league, which I think he will.
