Sevilla away sold out!

interesting thread this one.
The problem this year more than most, is theres less tickets available now for the regular home and awayer.
2 examples already - the rag game sold out this year in record time (first time my mate hasnt qualified) and sevilla - my other mate qualified for a derby tik but didnt get sevilla.
it is clear that more tickets are going to corporatate, with less going to the average joe.
i reckon theres 1200 or so who go everywhere regardless.
Theres another 800 who do most aways.
Thats 2000 with 13000 plus points (this is a very rough guess)
Before we were good, there was always plenty to go around. Now were good demand has grown and less to go around,
With less to go around, some of the 13000 pointers who are the die hards have missed out.
i would favour a 3 year points accumulation system - this would allow others the chance to catch up.
Theres no ideal system.....but IMO City should look after the die hards, they should also think about how some of the younger blues can catch up and....they should definately get rid of the platinum season card buy more loyalty points rip off scheme!

I have no probs with supporters clubs, i have been a member of a few. They do great work. However, tickets are allocated to supporter clubs on a quota system not a points system. Tickets are distributed to clubs on a basis of how many tickets the club orders regular. if your club orders 30 tickets for every away game and sells them to members, your club is more than likely to receive tickets. If your club only orders a handful of tickets for the big games, your club is less likely to get any tickets. It is then upto individual clubs to distribute the tickets according to there own rules or how they see fit. Kevin Parker confirmed this to me. So if i set up a new branch, higher broughton blues for instance, and we were paid up members....we would be entitled to apply for tickets and and have a chance of receiving same, even if we didnt have any branch member with the qualifying points. If higher broughton blues decided to allocate its tickets to members with the biggest beer belly first, that would be fine. I benefitted from this system years ago (i was a bigger lad back then!!) but i dont need it anymore. Thats the way it has always been and probably always will be. Im not knocking it......they do a good job....thats just how it is..!

I have 13570 Pts but after 53 mins on the phone this morning to be told that ALL the Sevilla tickets had sold out, bit P*ssed off but managed to navigate my way round Sevilla's official site and got one for 75 quid ;-)

I think you will find the problem is that all those with over 14-15,000 points will buy a ticket regardless, as they know they can always get rid if there NOT going!!
Hate to say this but the Rags have the best way round this!!
When you buy your ticket for an away European game, you have to pick it up from a designated hotel, near to the ground that the match is being played at and you have to produce your Passport and it must match both the person picking up the ticket and the person who purchased it (Via Season Card!)

When we played Real in Dec 2009 there was no problem getting tickets for anyone who wanted to go, same for the last two Denmark games the same season, or CSKA, or Roma last season. I do not know where the demand has come from for this game, or why demand was much higher fro Chelsea than Arsenal last season. I doubt it is down to those in the medium points brackets as you suggest.

As a member of a SC I know that this season the SCs have been told if they have supporters who have enough points to get their own tickets for the branches to encourage them to do so as the SC allocation has not only fallen but there are now a heck of a lot more branches!!

I have been getting my tickets on my own points for a few years now; I'm in the SC because of the social side, but what I find puzzling, and something that has not been mentioned as far as I can see, are the tickets that are for sale on Facebook. And I am not talking individual tickets here I am talking what seems to be quite a lot from what appears to be an individual source.

Do people who have Superbia tickets get more than one ticket allocated to them for away matches?

If/when they build the north stand up, that'll be more corporate seats and boxes, even less tickets for us to fight over.

I am seriously considering giving up my ticket in the SS and going corporate next year. I used to have enough points for any game but due to work/young family I can't go to as many away games and have missed out on OT for the first time in many years. As much as it pains me to pay the extra, I'm of the opinion if you can't beat them join them.

Sheila , Duttys got superbia , says he can nominate 2 more season cards that he can get tickets for

This is where it's all wrong. If you've got superbia all well n good they've earnt it cos they've clearly got the points and would qualify for all tickets anyway but why the neeed to piggy back two people on who don't have the points.
I have no clue how many superbia there are but even if there's just 100 that's another 200 tickets possibly earmarked for people without the required points
