As a member of a SC I know that this season the SCs have been told if they have supporters who have enough points to get their own tickets for the branches to encourage them to do so as the SC allocation has not only fallen but there are now a heck of a lot more branches!!
I have been getting my tickets on my own points for a few years now; I'm in the SC because of the social side, but what I find puzzling, and something that has not been mentioned as far as I can see, are the tickets that are for sale on Facebook. And I am not talking individual tickets here I am talking what seems to be quite a lot from what appears to be an individual source.
Do people who have Superbia tickets get more than one ticket allocated to them for away matches?
Hi EB
If you recall I raised this issue about five years ago.
At the time There was a long line of Supporters Club members , including your good self, that said this categorically did not happen. Yet I knew it did in at least four branches that I had contacts in. Now it seems all of the branches have joined in on the same scam to boost their allocations for the big games.
Eg. United next week
The SC get an usually larger allocation for this game than Sunderland away, even though we are often told it's the SC taking up the slack at the unattractive games!
So they take out 500 tickets to distribute amongst the branches. The branches then get their high points earners to get tickets on their points through the ticket office, therefore doubling their allocation to 1000 tickets.
Take out the corporate, sponsors, guests and families and the fans not a part of the SC are left with about 1500 tickets to scrabble over.
Add in the treble bubble of Superbia and they are left with 1400 tickets.
This is why the United game sold out at 1750 points more than last season, even though there have been less than 1350 points available since the last game. You can't even catch up if you go to every game.
This is why the large branches are able to charter their own plane to Barcelona. A game that sold out at more than 9000 points and yet you end up drinking with 'fans' who are at their first away game.
Meanwhile on to Sevilla; there has been about 1200 tickets made available to fans on Ticket Points, and half of those getting them are members of the SC bumping up their allocation. About 1000 has gone to corporate, families, SC etc.
It's the independent fans who are not members of the Supporters Club, Superbia or Joe's bar that are being left behind and yet are gullible enough to buy the Cup schemes and Platinum when in fact over the last two seasons they have fallen further and further behind, even if they had been in very scheme and gone to every game.
I'll be in Sevilla with mates from a large branch.
Some of them rarely go to aways these days but like the Euro trips. Few of them are in the cup schemes.
The independent fan is being mugged off.
